Hi - I'm new to the forum and from Oxfordshire, with two Series 1 V8 P6s I acquired last summer. (I was only planning to get one, but...) One is now back on the road after nearly twenty years in a barn; the other was last on the road in about 2015.

Welcome Simon,

I've run a Series 1 V8 as a daily driver (almost - salt excepted :)) for 12 years & really enjoy it. Search 'Hazel' on this forum to see my escapades!

By the way, we love pictures on here...

Thanks Phil, for your welcome. Attached are a couple of photos of OFC after I had got it and given it a bit of a clean. I will take some more pictures and some of NJT, although it is almost identical to OFC - Brigade Red but with Sandalwood instead of Buckskin.

Lovely colour!
Mine’s dog poo brown ;) (or Tobacco Leaf as Rover liked to call it). Mind you, someone called it Gold the other day, so I’ll stick with that.
My interior is Sandalwood too, so it is a very brown car...

Thanks for your welcome. You are of course absolutely right...they are already keeping me busy!
I have to put my hands up however and admit straight away - probably to the disdain of many members - that I've left most of the oily bits to my skilled and ingenious mechanic neighbour, Dave, who must often think he's talking to an idiot with the practical abilities of Frank Spencer. I will be trying to improve the paint/brightwork/interior myself though.

Nothing wrong with that, I’m the same although I will have a go at some very basic “mechanic-in”. My enjoyment is from driving it and listening to the glorious soundtrack!

Welcome from Australia.

Lovely to see an almost twin to our car (we have the touring kit for spare wheel on bootlid). Bought it in Aug 1970 reg PXC 182J.

However I'll be swapping to our summer bonnet, a series 2 with flutes, in the next few days as it is warming up here.

Thanks Mick, it's good to know I'm not the only one!
That sound when pulling steadily away from the lights is the best there is, in my humble opinion.

NJT953J is an even closer almost twin to your car, registered in Dorset in October 1970. Apparently it was always kept locally, right up until I acquired it last year. OFC was registered in March 1970 and supplied by the BLMC dealer in Oxford, and is now back in its original area. It still has the dealer's name on little chrome strips screwed into the plates on the sills. NJT feels like an older car than OFC inside, as the seat belts are static, the seats don't have headrests or even the brackets, and the trim is darker. Neither of them are anything like as smart as yours though.

Great that you've had it from new. There can't be many one-owner cars from 1970 around.
