OK, not a Rover, but it has twin SU carbs, and a blower!

Seen street parked in Belsize Park yesterday afternoon. Nobody else on the busy shopping parade seemed to be even the slightest bit interested in this beauty. I was beguiled, and took a few snapshots with my smartphone. Perhaps it is on its way to Le Mans for this weekends endurance race? I like the tools in the passenger door.

Lovely photos. It looks like a Bentley. They had a 4" exhaust pipe and sounded wonderful.

Hi, Good to see one being used on the road instead of being a museum exhibit. Ettore Bugatti once called them "The fastest lorry in the world" They make good tow cars as well.

That is a sublime dream machine. I just love them. Once, out in Bruiser, l came across half a dozen of them proceeding 'briskly' down the M11. A beautiful sight & l had the absolute temerity to put my foot down & keep up before finally overtaking them at a pretty good chat with an admiring blare of the horns as they began filing over to the M25 slip, eliciting a withering glance or two.
I must say, l was quite impressed with my car that day.

Could not smash the like button hard enough. Cool before steampunk was a 'thing'.

I've done a few competitive vintage rallies where the performance of blower Bentley and other large vintage cars, just amaze me. They can comfortably sit at 100mph all day. I once accompanied a Talbot 110 from Belfast to Cork and they crused at 80mph the length of Ireland, with over takes swiftly exceeding their crusing speed!!!

That rally I navigated for another Talbot.

Taking to the Bentley blower drivers, the limiting factors were lack of steering lock, and lack of brakes. On rallies the large cars would have alternate routes to avoid hairpins and on motorways they'd limit their speed by the worry of a slower cars pulling into the overtaking lane as they approached with a 'reasonable' closing speed.

I grow up with my Auntie having Miss Prim, her yellow little Austin 7 chummy, modified in the 30's for hillclimbing with a high compression alloy head, 4 speed gearbox and cycle wheel guards. My Auntie has owned Miss Prim for well over 50 years. It's better than Bentley being able to get round hairpins, uses less fuel, but still has no brakes. I've used the grabbing powers of verges and hedges to aid the brakes. Here she is beside a Bentley, 'we know our place'.
