Engine Installation - What not to do?

Sporting analogy time: I was always told that you don’t set a field for bad bowling. But then you realize (what you already knew but were suppressing in an optimistic fog) that your bowlers are crap and then you move everyone out to the boundary. So it’s a bummer the bit isn’t removable.

Engine Installation - What not to do?

Hello So, I have got my rebuilt 3500 motor back from D&D Fabrications, a rebuilt BW35 slopbox and torque converter, and the part I busted on removal from HRH HarveyP6. I am nearly ready to start putting it back in. I have never done this before. question: I am not looking for detail here but...

    Rover At Twilight

Interesting red painted magstar. Like that. Although I should not look too closely at those in case I get the urge to put mine back on and swap the Magnum hub off. Again.

    All the P6’s in Wisconsin.....

This one has been advertised for ages. At least this seller is realistic about the condition, and price. unlike the other one: https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/rover/p6/2295173.html

    All the P6’s in Wisconsin.....

I reckon if your strip speedo is past the blob and you are in the indicated gear you will be deafened / thrashing your motor.......

    AED versus Choke Conversion

Seems like there were a few versions of these, and plenty of vitriol is on show within jag forums as it was more widely implemented with seemingly universally horrible results. At the point where you have two isolation valves to contain the bugger an independent observer may question the sanity...

    AED versus Choke Conversion

Yes, I did have the HIF in mind as a Plan B, although project cost escalation is a factor that cut the research short. I was not too sure what else needs to change to finagle the HIFs on.

    AED versus Choke Conversion

On my rebuilt V8 engine I have it in mind to keep the AED for originality instead of doing a choke “upgrade” to the HS6. It was working, albeit with an aftermarket isolation needle valve in line. Do I need a mental health review if I proceed with this plan? Are there any odds that a serviced AED...

    BW35 Selector Rod Bracket (oops)

Hi It’s okay - can be shipped to Epsom then I can get it later, makes things easy. Yes, it’s just the ally bit that is now sans screw holes. You are unsurprisingly correct as not removing the bracket “often” did cause breakage. In fact 100% of the (one) time I tried getting a motor out I...

    BW35 Selector Rod Bracket (oops)

While removing the engine, a bit of a problem related to snagging or not disconnecting everything, I don’t quite recall, arose, The sliding bracket (compensator?) that holds the BW35 linkage plastic part was destroyed. I am looking for the bracket or the whole thing. The bracket PN is 561269...

    Viscous Fan

Thanks. Now I brought up the Lucas topic, that’s probably now all buggered too. PS. Edit: Of course I meant DandD fabrications, 215 V8 specialists. Before anyone looks for the (non existent) “Aluminum V8” shop I mentioned. That’s their web site address.

    Viscous Fan

Okay, sort of kinda what I thought about connecting the fairly honking fan directly. So let’s not do that. I will check the water pump but it’s the same unit as came off and in great shape so just new gasket and shiny screws. I think I am suffering from the expectation that absolutely nothing...
