Starting my descent into madness with a P6

I like stats, crazy huh. So everything i think needs done gets added to the list, doesn't mean it'll get done, but its on the list for referral at least. Wife is happy, so that good, as I was looking at a TVR convertible, and she was dead against that as it would be too cold. Now, however ...

Starting my descent into madness with a P6

Nice to see you are getting stuck in. I'm also new to the P6B V8, and mines a manual. Bought on a whim in Napier while we were holidaying there. It drove home the 935km to Tekapo without much issue , which was surprising as it had'nt really gone anywhere for 15yrs. I expected to find many...

    Hello from New Zealand

Gosh, I saw that car as we were driving through Pleasant Point in April, and took a pic of it. Are you in South Canterbury?

    Boot Badge removal

To be honest, loving the car, only bought her in October last year unexpectedly. Drove it 950km home after a long storage....made it ok, but all the problems have arisen since, which is fine, as we have time to sort. Job list is up to 35 so far, and cracking through them, many big ones!

    Boot Badge removal

That's just what must have happened, also, when they repainted the boot, the orientation of the retaining clip thing was one hole out in rotation. so It took a while until it made sense! The old badge was missing the logo etc, so didn't matter which way around it went back on! As they say...

Thanks, took off the boot lid liner and all was revealed. Looking smart now, smarter than my question at any rate!

    Boot Badge removal

Yes, probably a silly question, but as I don't have an owners manual, but I have a replacement touring kit boot badge...how do you remove the old one? It moves freely about 5 degrees either way from outside, is it meant to pop off from the outside? Don't wish to ham-fist anything

I have same wheels on mine, and was looking at refurbishing them the way you have. How did they look on the car in the end?

'jerky' running on my 74 V8

Mine did similar when we brought it. 45 years of grime in the fuel tank, showed up especially downshifting to accelerate going uphill. Another clue was the fuel gauge didnt work, as sender was rusted up. We removed, tank, cleaned and sealed, and cleaned out fuel line and renewed filter.

    4 Speed box parts

Thanks, we are getting closer, I have the spares, now, , turns out the bronze spigot was replaced with a steel ring (of lesser width as well), so that was the cause of the woes. Have correct spigot, new input shaft and other parts to fit, and mechanic is onto it this week.

    4 Speed box parts

Hello all, our mechanic has our 1973, P6B 3500S G/box in pieces and asks me to look for the following parts. (He's an ace Triumph car and general mechanic) Input Shaft Spigot bush one Syncho ring The gearbox has some years ago with previous owner been refurbished, so bearings and gears are...
