Thanks chaps. Back on it in a cpl of weeks time. Gotta move in to a semi derelict house next week. Working my ass off trying to get electric on, toilet fitted etc before then! At least the roof is water tight now :)

Thanks. Mirrors are early Rolls Royce Shadow 1. Hard to come by, especially the nearside, as only factory fitted to driver side. Also usually hideously expensive, so much patience required to get both at a reasonable price! :) I need to source or make one toggle adjuster - one of the reasons one...

Hi JP, funny thing is I looked at all kinds of alternative gearboxes, 5 speed manuals, and even flirted with autos for a while. But at the end of the day, I really like driving with an electric overdrive, especially with a kickdown! So in the end I settled on a short stick P5 3 ltr box with...

I'm moving things forward on a number of fronts, here is the start of the new braking system, using P4 disks and calipers at the front, Porsche 912 dual circuit master cylinder , and a Spanish made dual circuit servo.

Here's some work I've been doing on the dashboard. Had a lot of issues with veneer lifting and stress cracking in the finish on the instrument panel, so will be going with a painted panel incorporating the instruments and aircon centre vent, where the radio would normally be, in the finished...

I've been back on this doing odds n ends as time and money permits. Big development was scoring a 1950 chassis and a few parts unique to the 49/50 cars, The Cyclops body was largely gone. So the car has slightly changed direction, at least in appearance. The 53 body is on the 50 chassis but will...

I have some experience of hot dip galvanising vintage chassis. It's tempting. Downside is if it requires accident damage repairs in the future, the galvanising complicates matters. I figure it's lasted this well for 65 years in a wet climate, it should see me to the end of my days in the sunny...

Repaired chassis. Body back on chassis temporarily now, to do repairs to bodyshell.

As expected really. Happy there are just a few minor previous repairs, so dealing with a largely unmolested shell. There was a bit more on the chassis than expected, but again not too bad at all.
