As well as a jumping needle, I had a weird fault where the indicated speed didn't change when accelerating and only showed the new speed...

I'm pretty sure the one way valve on mine is in the plug that fits into the servo. I can't really see why a collapsing hose or faulty...

Thanks - this has acc/off/ign and start when you twist it. Mine is a 1971, but this switch is off an unknown donor.

Facebook suggested a collapsing vacuum hose or faulty one way valve on the manifold....mine doesn't have a one-way valve, just straight...
