Thank you sdibbers, that makes perfect sense that I have a blockage somewhere as when I demanded maximum fuel it could not deliver. I have just filled up so I won’t be doing anything just yet. Thanks for your input.

How do you by pass the reserve tap ? Twice I have had the car ,( 2000 Tc ), on a rolling road and twice ran out of fuel . Switch to the reserve , although there is half a tank of fuel and all is ok . I would never run the car until I needed the reserve .

I fitted LED bulbs in the Indicators and experienced all sorts of odd problems till I fitted an electronic flasher unit to the flashers and the hazards , problem solved !

Thank you Quattro, Yes Winns have them and I have no doubt they are fit for purpose but at £80 each , I want 2 that’s £160 for 2 ball joints . Am I wrong in thinking that is a bit excessive ?

Should there be any play in the top ball joints ( p6. 72 ,2000tc ) with the body supported and the suspension hanging free . With the wheel off I can get hold of the upright and move it up and down. Is this right ? Thanks in advance

Colin , Thank you very much for your reply . You are definitely a better googler than I . I am looking for 2 and I thought I had found them in some old stock but no such luck . Two of our suppliers have them but at approximately £80 each ( including postage and vat ) I think is a bit steep ...

Can anybody please tell me the Quinton Hazell part number for the top and bottom ball joints on a 1972 p6 2000 . The Rover number for the top ball joint is 595724. The bottom ball joint is 595725 . I have come across some new Quinton Hazell old stock but have no catalogue, Thank you in advance.

Sorted !! Changed old fuse box for a blade type box. £6 + 2 hours labour and all my gremlins that I have fought for the past year have vanished. Every thing works as it should . I discovered the lights have been put on a separate fuse holder with 3 Relays that’s why there is only 8 wires going...

Problem sorted ! It was the good old fuse box . I Will be changing it for a blade fuse type one next week .

Problem solved. . After many hours of one step forward and two steps back I finally tracked down the cause of all my intermittent electrical problems . It’s the fuse box . I replaced all the fuses with the right size ,made sure everything was clean and still had problems. I undid the fuse box...

Thank you for your reply, I have checked all the fuses and they are all OK . Ignition lights and main lights work fine but indicators ,stop lights and dash instruments are not working , help !!
