SU HIF6 carbs - throttle return spring

Hi guys -

I wondered if anyone could be super kind and post a good photo of the throttle return spring setup on a P6 HIF6 setup - I have a transplanted P6 V8 setup, but the throttle return spring's missing so the accelerator pedal pushes the throttle just under its own weight, and can't see where it was supposed to attach to properly in the original setup.

I'd be super grateful!

Mine is hidden down behind the left hand cyl head going downward from the rod to the frame of the car. I fitted a soft secondary spring onto the carb linkage as mine would not idle properly, but have since re bushed the pivots on the manifold and the firewall and replaced the nylon universal joint this improved it all greatly.
Gonna be a job to take a pic of the original spring, perhaps the WM has a drawing ?

Thanks Clive that's interesting - guessing (sorry even more difficult since mine's not even IN a P6 anymore) that's the other end of the bar attached directly to the throttle pedal itself, and not via the cable at the carb end? My setup is in the following photos - my first idea was to basically duplicate the spring setup on the brake / clutch pedals (which also need new springs!) but it's been suggested to me that I shouldn't do that as it could introduce slack in the cable in my situation - in which case it looks like there should be another spring similar to those two but on the arm directly attached to the other end of the throttle cable. Burlen suggesting I just need a couple of the little fat ones (AUD4272 and -4273) - most setups elsewhere seem to have longer springs also helping keep the tension though...

I don't know if I am missing something but surely HIF carbs have an rotary spring acting directly on the butterfly spindle to close it, but I see on the One Ten V8 LR there is another one acting on the linkage in the Vee between the carbs .

Well, I've cobbled something together for now - stretched a spring straight over the rocker cover (forgot to take a photo!) but it'll do, and all in a straight line working directly on the throttle cable attachment so no need to worry about strains on the carbs.

Thanks very much for all the photos and suggestions, really helpful! Now for the next problem.....
