It would appear that the previous owner did not use to lower mounting bolts to secure to hs8 carb adaptors to the inlet manifold. I am therefore 2 short. Are these avaiable anywhere?

I believe they are only standard bolts so can be sourced from numerous outlets. Take one of the others out as a sample. Maybe best to replace with stainless .

There are special bolts, as Vern says,
they have a shoulder on them. Any idea of where to obtain them?

failing that I will need to use standard bolts and have a sleeve machined to the exact size to slip over the bolt

The bolts don't actually hold the adapter on — that's what the o-ring does and the central spring steady does — they are there to limit how far the flexible mounts can rock. You could leave them the way it is without any real concern. Or you could use a standard bolt with loctite and just install it so the bolt head is at the same distance as the proper bolt.

As for getting a set, somebody here must have some spares who is closer to you that myself, here on the west coast of Canada but push comes to shove I'm sure I can dig up a couple.

Vern.
thank you for clarifying what I thought. I sourced a set of UNC nuts and bolts as general replacements for some rusty examples I have removed from the car.

within that set there were two bolts, with an identical shoulder and thread. I cut them down to match the existing bolts, and have also purchased the AAV grade Loctite.

all systems go

Thank you
