Hello all

Hello all i just brought myself a rover p6b v8 few weeks ago and already running into trouble I'll be looking here for alot of advice thankyou all for your knowledge!

I'm from new Zealand this is my first go at restoring a car it's a 1972 rover p6 3500 automatic
Was an impulse buy I saw it at an auction and had to have it...it has a long way to go before it's road worthy but with all the peoples collective knowledge on this site I'm sure I'll get there here is a picture the day after I pushed it off the trailer (not running yet) it actually looks alot better in this picture than in person...paint seems to be just spray can over the original that was poorly prepared and the insides missing carpets and the seats are ripped the wiring has been chopped and added to in odd spots...so yea it's a bit of a project I was told it was just head gaskets to get the engine running again so we will see what happens

Dont think it is 1972. Looks pre facelift unless someone has had a play with it.

Not sure what leads you to that assumption, the deeper dish hub caps are consistent with 1972, but more significantly so are the door handles. So all the available cues are Series 2. Obviously badges and reflectors are missing but it seems unlikely someone would swap all door handles?
