Rover p6b restoration

Where will you be mounting the clutch master? Next to the brake master, or vertically like the 3500S? I had a lot of fun making up the brackets to mount a vertical slave, which are not present on the auto base unit.
What are you using as a rear crossmember? Will you be re-using the brackets in the auto tunnel?
I adapted an SD1 crossmember to the auto brackets. I have photos of my contraptions if you need.
I had to trim some metal away to get the three-pedal box in the hole. I didn't use any gasket material between the pedal box and the bulkhead. That was stupid. Rain gets in if I park at a certain incline facing up hill. Damn and blast.
I have the pedals and all the bits from an s for the master and will cross the bridge for the Crossmember when I get that far but have the auto and the sd1 member to play with.
That was a bit of a mistake not fitting a gasket, I'll be sure I do.

Rear axle removed this week and a nasty trailing arm discovery. Then on to stripping the underseal.
That's probably going to take me the next couple of weekends IMG_20201010_182627_427.jpgIMG_20201010_182627_482.jpgIMG_20201010_182627_428.jpgIMG_20201010_182627_430.jpgIMG_20201010_182627_474.jpgIMG_20201010_182627_484.jpg

I love your work and dedication stue. I am now a long way behind you now
I am finding it hard to find the time at the moment but I no I will get there in the end and will be worth it.

It is hard to find the time sometimes.
I try to dedicate one day a week but been off the last week so had a bit of extra time.

Looks great Stu! very clean indeed, it's like big ..YES.. once all the underseal if off, all starts to get better with repainting and refitting bits :thumb::)

It's not looking to bad, not really found anything I didnt already know about.
Be nice to put some bits back on. Seams all I do is keep taking more off.

Gradually getting there with removing the underseal.
Did find a small amount of welding I didnt know about so its worthwhile removing it to see.

Looking good Stue, you'll soon be putting it back together!

What are you doing with that holed lower link? You may be able to weld a piece in if it's not too bad, although I recall that suspension parts shouldn't really be repaired (not sure where I heard this).

Unfortunately, whilst you can still get new N/S lower links, getting an O/S one is much more difficult. For some reason they seem to always be the worst of the two sides :hmm:

Blimey! certainly gone for it! looks great! Yep the weather is crap, Sometimes I have to really push myself into the garage this time of year, I do have a good heater so its nice & warm, its the kneeling down, laying on my back & lugging bulky suspension bits, Rear Diff around various parts of the garage to make more room lol. hopefully I'll get the diff bolted back in tonight, once I've mustered up the 'go' in me

Look forward to more updates :thumb::)

Have another complete rear suspension in another garage so hopefully that lower link will be ok. Fingers crossed.
Its buried at the moment though so haven't had a chance to look

I know what you mean about laying on your back.
I bought myself a padded creeper board recently and it has made getting under a bit better.

Hi stue I have got to repair my boot shut to. Did you make the curved part on the right hand side or did you buy it as a repair panel.
Keep up all the great work.

Paul
