Booking is now open for the RSR Platinum Jubilee weekend on 9th-11th June 2023.
2023 brings the seventieth anniversary of the founding of the Rover Sports Register, in 1953.
Something extra special was obviously needed to commemorate this landmark, and on the weekend of 9-10-11th June we aim to raise the bar in what can be done with a single make car event, in the beautiful surroundings of The Malvern Hills.
The Abbey Hotel, in Great Malvern, has 90+ rooms and plenty of private parking for the assembled Rovers and other classic cars. They have struck us a great weekend deal for the Friday and Saturday night, including informal dinner on the Friday night and Gala Dinner on the Saturday, for under £200 per person, all in based on two people sharing.
The Abbey is located right in the centre of town, and there are plenty of opportunities for taking in the unique historic atmosphere, the quaint local shops and some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, an inspiration to Sir Edward Elgar, J. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis, to name but a few.
The hotel will be the base, and on the Saturday we are organising a superb scenic road run in the unrepeatable scenery of Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
As an alternative (or do both, if you fancy it) we have organised tours at The Morgan Motor Company, which is a short drive from the hotel.
Saturday evening there will be a traditional RSR Gala Dinner in the large suite at the hotel, with speakers and entertainment.
The Sunday brings a special event, which should excite car enthusiasts young and old. We’re heading to the world’s oldest continually-run motorsport venue, Shelsley Walsh, in the beautiful Wye Valley.
We have the whole place for the day, with plenty of room for Rovers and other classic cars of all ages, including the famous hill, which will be live for enthusiasts and their cars to pit their wits against (fully marshalled, with timed runs)
There will be champions! (pre-booking is absolutely essential for this part, and there is limited space).
