    Fire

Hi, When replacing fuel hose make sure it's SAE J30 R9 or R10 spec, Preferably Gates or Cohline. Don't get it off ebay, get it from a reputable dealer. There's a lot of counterfeit hose about, if they can fake the hose they can fake the printing on it. Colin

    A cautionary tale........

Hi, Electrolysis might have been a better option, but as Vern says it's not the end of the world. Any process that converts rust will turn it to magnetite and just wants cleaning off. Colin

    Temp Sender Hex?

Hi, In common with a lot of other makes, I think it's to stop over use or abuse. They have only got one job to do and are made to cater for that. I think the term is 'waiting to work' a bit like a ring pull on a beer can. Colin

    1969 4.8l turbo.

Hi, The diff was my first thought. For me the large diameter wheels and rubber band tyres look doesn't work on the P6, just as I was wondering about doing similar. Oh well, that's more money saved.;) Colin

    What's blowing my fuse?

Hi, It's obviously a dead short, so replace the fuse with a bulb on a couple of fly leads which will light up. Then go round disconnecting and checking the various covered items and check the loom for signs of it having chaffed through until the light goes out and that will be your culprit. Colin

    Power Steering

Hi, It looks like you just need a reservoir ( plus the oil hoses to and from the pump and steering box, and the drive belt but you would be better fitting new of those) unless Harvey can spot anything else. There's a reservoir on ebay at the moment - Rover V8 power steering reservoir | eBay...

    Lambretta on the Rear Bumper

Hi, The fuel tank was moved from the original boot floor position to the over axle one because it was causing structural problems. Although the supposed 140kgs weight of the scooter does exceed the usual trailer noseweight recommendation, I still don't think it's a good idea. Colin

    cover cill capillary action

Hi, I think originally they had plastic inserts pushed into a square hole in the cill and the outer was screwed to them, which provided the small stand off. But that was 50 odd years ago and have disappeared in the mean time.;) Colin
