Speedo hunting at lowspeed, and under-reading

Due to repeated faulty senders I drove my daily truck for 2 years without a speedo. Did wonders for my mileage lol. My Rover speedo (ribbon type) bounces around more than Pamela....

    Inhibitor Switch

Could always re-route the safety switch to a momentary switch on the dash that also needs to be engaged to start? Cool anti-theft device too!

    Brake sticking question

Thanks mate. I really hope I don't have to have my near-new servo overhauled.

    Series One Ignition switch

Cheers, I tried that but just got confused, as I'm not sure where to apply power - I think the two in the middle are power and alt return, but I'm not sure which is which. I couldn't get the single to light up at all, and doing it all with one pair of hands was a PIA. will try again when I get...

    Series One Ignition switch

Thanks - this has acc/off/ign and start when you twist it. Mine is a 1971, but this switch is off an unknown donor.

    Brake sticking question

Facebook suggested a collapsing vacuum hose or faulty one way valve on the manifold....mine doesn't have a one-way valve, just straight through. Servo is only a couple of years old. Car was being used semi-regularly for club runs and had no issues until I put it on full rego - now the gremlins...

    Brake sticking question

Hi, Tonight for no apparent reason my brakes stuck on. There was zero pedal feel like the master was glued in position. Managed to pull out of the intersection and turn her off. After a while I started again and drove home using gears and park brake to get home. At home the problem didn't...

    Lumenition silver Vs Black

Thanks, I'm currently running a silver in my car and I have a few silvers in the parts drawer. One old-time mechanic I know runs his electronic at 12V and has done for years, but I don't know if it's lumenition and I wanted to double check mine needs 9V. Will keep as it is! Thanks.

    Lumenition silver Vs Black

Hey guru's, my understanding is that the older style lumenition system with the sliver box likes 9v and the black is ok for full 12v. Is this correct? Looking like old Reg might be going back on full registration AS A DAILY DRIVER. Yeah, this could be interesting lol.

Did all P6B's have vacuum assisted brakes?

Long story, I assume they did? Were there any with dual circuit brakes (Nadas?). Cheers, Rob.

Did the Rover use 'P16' brakes, same as GT Cortina / Capir?

Awesome, thanks. You guys are so knowledgeable! Have located a reconditioned set for a nice price.

Did the Rover use 'P16' brakes, same as GT Cortina / Capir?

Well for better or worse I've found some calipers now - Cortina GT. I didn't think I'd find them!

Did the Rover use 'P16' brakes, same as GT Cortina / Capir?

Hi, In the dark corners of the web this was suggested. Does anyone know if true? Chasing a set of P16 Calipers, thought it might be easier to find them under a P6 as opposed to a GT Cortina.....

(DISREGARD- LOCATED) WTB P6 v8 Engine mount brackets

Sorry to hear that Mike! If yours are already off a car I think that would be good, to save Quattro pulling an engine just to get the mounts. I'm also following up some local avenues to see if I can get any here in Oz, so I'll follow those up first. If in the meantime you trip over a set in the...

    Engine mount dilemma...

Sorry mate that's the part number for the large ones - I'm looking for the small ones. Had a mate suggest they're probably P5B. Will start looking down that road.

(DISREGARD- LOCATED) WTB P6 v8 Engine mount brackets

@quattro @mikecoombs have either of you had a chance to get to the brackets? Turns out the set I got locally are for the early rubbers, which are near impossible to find over here. Looking for ones that suit the larger rubbers....

    Engine mount dilemma...

Any idea where I can get proper ones? I'm thinking alternately, I might grind the early brackets I have to fit the larger mounts, then weld in two spines (like a backbone, not a thorn lol) on the back to restore the rigidity....what do you think?
