    What output would you expect....?

Bonus question: During assembly, how would you get this engine to perform at it's best? I'm planning on having the rotating assembly balanced, accurate ring-gaps.....what else?

    What output would you expect....?

I think the cam I got for this was very similar to the 3.9. I asked the manufacturer for a good road cam that I could use with the standard springs, as I don't want to start mucking around with the fresh heads I have.

    What output would you expect....?

I understand what you're saying about the Holley - but I'm much more comfortable with tuning them than CV style carbs due to my Australian upbringing :). I chose the 390 because when you factor in the way 2 barrel and 4 barrel carb cfm is measured, the primaries on the 390 are smaller than a 350...

    What output would you expect....?

Yep the 8.13:1 is in there at the moment because it's a good runner. Once the car has passed engineering and is registered I'm going to put together the 9.75:1. It had crossed my mind to throw a blower on the 8.13:1 instead, or as a side project, but the car wont pass inspection with a blown...

    What output would you expect....?

Hey groovers, My project is in limbo while I move house so I'm doing some bench-racing. At the moment it's a stock 8.13:1 3.5. I do however have another 3.5 that I'm hoping to build up. The parts I have accumulated so far are a 9.75:1 short block, a set of reconditioned 4.6L heads, Edelbrock...

Welch plug size for rear of block?

Yep all good JP- I was referring to the 2 plugs opposite the cam plug. Turns out they're the same size as the side ones.

Hi guys, long time no see.....

Nothing yet lol - that's straight outta the headers. Just straight-piping it might only be as loud as the local Harleys.... I'm going for the sleeper vibe but I forsee cut-outs in my future....

Welch plug size for rear of block?

Hi Groovers, Part number is 612898, two welch plugs for the rear of the block. I can't find their specific size to get brass ones. I know it must be on here somewhere but I haven't found it using the search function. Sad story is that when I did my plugs I (apparently and now obviously) used a...

Hi guys, long time no see.....

Rocker covers are Buick 215, Alternator is a Lucas unit I bought for my P6B (when I had it) that I didn't end up using. 70amp.

Hi guys, long time no see.....

Slow progress is still progress, right? Most of the glass is in, and my new radiator has been made to fit.

    Which Coil?

I'm sure they all have a 'resistor wire' as opposed to a single ballast resistor. So yes it will be a ballast system, but it's the whole wire that drops the voltage. ....Pink & White from memory. Mine started smoking like crazy when I first started reviving mine - I believe that as they are...

    Filing up the BW 66.

Hey groovers. Almost time to run the project for the first time since the auto has been attached. Auto in question is a BW66 from a late SD1, so it's basically the same as the 65, not like a Jag 66 sump-wise etc......if that makes sense. Anyhoos, I've only put 2.5L of Ftype into it and it's...

    Engine stalls at intersections

Ok my only suggestion with that then would be to re-check the gap and the dwell. Sometimes new points will 'wear in' and need to be reset. Still might be a fuel problem, but if it were my car that's where I'd start - weak ignition/timing.

Installation of Holley throttle cable brackets with auto kick-down cable help?

Hi gurus! (hey admin - not sure of this is the right spot for this thread so apologies if it needs moving). I'm up to the throttle side of things in my project. I have a Holley 4 barrel on an Edelbrock performer, and I need to create the throttle linkages. I'm going to go with cable as it's the...

    Engine stalls at intersections

Caveat: I'm no mechanic. With those two factors combined I'd also be looking at the strength of your ignition system. I think you're getting a weak spark? Is it points or electronic dizzy?

    Bw65 dipstick tube question

Hey gurus. Is there any type of seal etc required when refitting the dipstick tube to the sump? I have a small/slow leak.
