    Torque converter to flexplate spacing.

Hi guru's - quick question this time. With the RV8 and BW65 auto is there any spacing required between the flexplate and converter? I had always assumed they were directly bolted to each other. No diagrams on the interwebs indicate spacers, but just checking before I do something expensive...

Are there any aftermarket overdrives for a BW 65/66?

Howdy, Just curious if there ever was/is an overdrive option for the v8 BW like the MG's had? I'm running 3.58 rear and that's the tallest ratio I can get for my diff.

What to check on a points distributor?

Hi gurus, I have a v8 points distributor I'd like to use but I'm not confident it's ok. What should I check and how to see if it's serviceable?

    So I have a 4.6 and a cam....will they like each other?

Short story long, I'm putting a 3.5 into my Mk2 Cortina. I've been keeping an eye out for a cheap 4.6 (for later, the 3.5 has to go in for the car to be certified as I'm only 'supposed' to go to 3.7L max capacity) and I managed to get one at price I couldn't resist. Before I got assurances from...

    Bw 65/66 question.

Hi gang, So for my project I have a BW65 and a BW66 in the parts bin. I'm using the 66 as I found a crack in the case of the 65 (D'oh!). Question is, are the torque converters interchangeable? 65 came with a brand new one.....I have another that I think came with the 66 but it's been so long I'm...

    Block hugger headers Rv8

Hi groovers, Does anyone have a set of block hugger style headers (not ones that go through the fender wall a-la-MGB, but the ones that converge in the centre of the block and follow it between the starter and the engine mount) they'd like to offload? Serious clearance issues in the Cortina...

Old Reg has gone to new owner!

Hey Guru's. Big thanks for all your help and advice over the years but my P6B is now in the hands of her new owner. But you don't get rid of me that easily. I still have a 3.5 I'm (very slowly) shoe-horning into the Cortina...

Series 1 P6B for sale QLD Australia.

Regretful Sale, my Rover P6B. Funds required to fix my house and main project (RV8 Mk2 Cortina) etc etc etc. Truth is, I can't give her the time and love she deserves. She's a 1970 (but 1971 on rego papers) English made S1 with the alloy grille and ribbon speedo. She does however have some S2...

    Dizzy help please!

Ok you bright sparks (pun intended). What's the difference between these 35DM8 distributors? Would you prefer this or a 35D8 with a 'silver' Lumenition conversion (which I also have in stock, and I'll steal the oil drive off one of these)? It's on an '86 RV8.

    So what's she worth?

Hi guys, May have to sell my P6 in the next year or so due to moving house etc. What's a S1 (change-over) V8 worth these in Australia days? Body is tired but good, engine is an '85 3.5L that has previously been rebuilt and runs very well. Holley conversion. Brakes all rebuilt in the last 5...

    Hi, I'm back again......

Howdy Gang, Just wanted to say happy 2023 to this bunch of great people. I haven't been on here very much for a long time but that's just the way my life has been. I hope you've all been well, and I look forwards to catching up with you all in the forums more often :) PS, no I haven't been in...

    Brake sticking question

Hi, Tonight for no apparent reason my brakes stuck on. There was zero pedal feel like the master was glued in position. Managed to pull out of the intersection and turn her off. After a while I started again and drove home using gears and park brake to get home. At home the problem didn't...

    Series One Ignition switch

Hi Guru's, Below is an image of the back of a series one ignition switch. top of the picture is the top how it would be normally mounted. Can anyone tell me which function should be connected to which pin? Cheers, Rob.

    Lumenition silver Vs Black

Hey guru's, my understanding is that the older style lumenition system with the sliver box likes 9v and the black is ok for full 12v. Is this correct? Looking like old Reg might be going back on full registration AS A DAILY DRIVER. Yeah, this could be interesting lol.

Did all P6B's have vacuum assisted brakes?

Long story, I assume they did? Were there any with dual circuit brakes (Nadas?). Cheers, Rob.

Did the Rover use 'P16' brakes, same as GT Cortina / Capir?

Hi, In the dark corners of the web this was suggested. Does anyone know if true? Chasing a set of P16 Calipers, thought it might be easier to find them under a P6 as opposed to a GT Cortina.....

Does anyone here have contacts for Zephyr parts?

Hi, I'm chasing a pair of Mk4 Zephyr/Zodiac front wheel hubs. Just posting here as this is the only European contact I have. Cheers, Rob.

    Engine mount dilemma...

Hey groovers, I'm looking at my Cortina project engine mounts and I can't decide if I should use the P6b mounts I have (small rubber), or modify a set of Landrover asymetric brackets to be symmetrical and use holden v8 mounts. The Landrover brackets will give 3 mounts on the block as opposed to...

    Assumed output for Rover v8.

Hi Groovers, If I build my 3.5 with standard bore, 'stage 1' cam, 4.6 heads and 9.75 compression ratio, Electronic ignition, Holley 390 on an Edelbrock manifold, P38 extractors and single 2.5" exhaust, what would you expect a reasonable/average assumed output figure (range) to be? Just curious...

    BW65 gear ratios?

Howdy, Are the final drive ratio's on BW35/65/66 the same? Is it 1:1? Looking at diff ratio options for the Cortina. Cheers, Rob.

Freeze plug / welch plug removal.

Hey groovers, considering how badly I've scored the alloy block, do you have a particular trick you use to remove the welch plugs without scoring the fitting surface? I usually just tap one side with a punch to make it off set or bend and go from there. Paranoid about mucking it up now lol

    Leyland 4.4 VS Rover 3.5

Curious to know if anyone here has experience with the 4.4 and how they stack up against the 3.5. Obviously capacity increase is always good, but being a longer stroke are they lazier than the 3.5? Worked to the same extent do you think the 3.5 would be a more lively engine or much-of-a-muchness...
