    thanks for that people, having obtained a new belt, I notice the fan pulley is slightly out of line with the crank pulley, nothing is loose, but obviously not right, fan on tight. Crank end float. Naah, so what? Regards Brian

    Rough running

    regarding the dizzy condenser so, I am getting no spark at plugs, HT lead remove from dizzy when earthed. plenty of sparks. Thought maybe the condenser breaking down. Sounds daft, but I think I may have put the insulation between the wire from the coil and the condenser on to the holding bolt...

    Right, brain sorted, the past owner fitted an electric fuel pump about 6 inches from the tank, this is probably why he did away with the reserve equipment, couldn't fit the valve in, So, I will try to get the valve that fits under the tank, connect up and bingo! Next, try to find the cable route...
