Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

Some of these junkies are extremely annoying. You never know what they're going to do. Unfortunately asylums don't seem to be a thing anymore. Society doesn't work if you have a load of mentally deficient peeps ruining it for the rest of us. The ones who sit in the phone boxes at the end of the...

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

No no, that's not a project, that was the result of catastrophic engine failure due to a main cap falling off. :(

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

I'll be going out to the countryside to buy one Sunday after next. :)

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

I made an album! Just a few snippets of what I have been doing inside my home while going mad during the unfortunate unpleasantness of 2020 and 2021. My new engine which is mostly assembled and will be going in this summer has 10.5:1 pistons, everything was ported all the way to the...

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

That's how I ended up cutting my crankshaft in half between cylinders 2 & 3 :( - I had discovered that it would do 60MPH in 1st at 6000RPM. But the engine was already tired and had previously been worked on by an imbecile before I bought the car. No.2 main cap came loose and that was that.

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

Oh it's terrible, and getting worse. You can physically see it in the streets. The mentally deficient and the religious fanatics are in top form! Got imported needle pumpers heating up their teaspoon casseroles in the phone boxes at the end of the road most nights. Most of the shops on the high...

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

Oh that's quite alright. Nice to have a bit of a distraction from an otherwise miserable life. Got that worthless London mayor pushing his ULEZ scheme, C40 15 minute cities, demented politicians trying to push for the abolition of cars, sheeple being told to scream their allegiance to king WEF...

That's handy. Stops the passenger from messing with the dial. :)

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

Looks good to me! :thumb: Quick clean, some contact adhesive and vinyl. What's the inside like? Also did you receive my message regarding my offer?

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

Well that is interesting. Haphazard, but not totally unexpected. I guess the first question that comes to mind is, how do I listen to the Bee Gees while running down Just Stop Oil protesters? Edit: I just realised that my post regarding me looking to purchase a solid roof for my P6, has...

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

Very nice! Of course you would need that A/C in Australia, I hear it's rather warm over there, and there is always the possibility of football sized spiders entering your vehicle, or being punched in the face by a kangaroo while waiting at a stop sign if you happen to have the window...

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

️️ - Threw away you say. Interesting. I mean everything has value to someone. One of my good friends who is a good twice my age, got lobbed out of his garage by TLF, something about redevelopment. As if you can replace industry with coffee shops and purveyors of worthless tat and expect to...

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

Well of course, no one actually expects you to sell vital organs to obtain parts for your car. Unless of course you happen to be a high ranking CCP official with access to ##REDACTED##. But it does annoy me that parts for Rovers can be rather difficult to come by. I got my P6 as my first car...

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

Excellent, not too far away. Only thing is, I have absolutely no idea what any of these things are worth. I was sort of hoping that you would give me a price. eBay has turned up nothing on current or completed / sold listings. So what would you be looking for it? :hmm:

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

:hmm: Well excuse my lack of knowledge, but still, a 2000TC series I with air con and all the features mentioned would be pretty cool, and exceptionally rare. They make several mentions of AC in the P6 development video, yet I have never actually seen any P6s with factory AC. Perhaps they were...

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

The corner pieces at the top of the A pillars that join the chrome trim, those are riveted in place from the inside. I've been told that in order to remove the roof panel, they too need to be removed.

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

So you're willing to potentially live on dialysis for the rest of your life in order to obtain an electric folding roof? o_O I don't think that would be a particularly good arrangement myself. There is only one roof that I would be willing to go to unreasonable lengths to get, the fabled Triplex...

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

I personally wouldn't recommend it. But if you're a dab hand with the drill, rivet gun and silicone sealant, you can have the roof swapped back in the space of an afternoon. :cuppa:

Spiffing! If you would be so kind as to tell me where you are and how much you would be looking for it, I would very much appreciate it. I am in NW London myself. Regards, Ivan

Rover P6 Solid Roof (1974 Series II V8 Auto)

Hello fellow Rover enthusiasts and those refuse to let go of the past (as per myself). Summer will soon be upon us, or so I have been told. And the time seems right to get rid of my Monte Carlo Webasto, and replace it with a sold roof so I can bake inside my car like a proper 1970's era...

Rover P6 Heater Box Wanted (Series II 1974 V8 Auto)

This is extraordinary! A literal treasure trove of bits! The amount of time I have wasted on eBay, gumtree and google searching for this type of stuff, and it's all just, there. How does one go about buying these items? It appears to be just a collection of photos on google drive. :hmm:

Rover P6 Heater Box Wanted (Series II 1974 V8 Auto)

That would be TOO easy. Pulling it apart and changing out the foam, motor bearings and brushes, cleaning out the matrix or replacing it, painting the box etc would be a nice evening project. As it is, I may end up going for the extreme option. Metal fabrication! Although I wanted to avoid it.

Rover P6 Heater Box Wanted (Series II 1974 V8 Auto)

Intriguing! Us Rover owners are an odd bunch, you wouldn't hear that from the BMW crowd my younger brother hangs around with. I suppose the thing to ask would be, what exactly is missing? I have a complete heater box myself, granted a significant portion of it is inside a vacuum cleaner. At...

Rover P6 Heater Box Wanted (Series II 1974 V8 Auto)

Just in the process of "freshening up" my P6 as it has been off the road for a while. Took off the scuttle and removed the heater box so I could paint behind it as I have sprayed the engine bay. To my horror there is nothing left of the heater box where it meets the firewall. I know they are...
