    Minilite options?

So still a bit at sea.... OE was 165/80/14 .... the modern equivalent being 185/70/14.... will these be OK for my 6" /14 SD1 series 1 alloys?

    1978 2200TC -'Malcolm'

OK, so the modern equivalent is 185/70/14 .... Cool - but will that also be OK with my 6" x14 SD1 alloys?

The seats were looking pretty worn, cracked and the black colour to the leather was worn away in places. I stupidly forgot to take picture before hand but the passenger seat in particular was looking quite bad, lots of cracks with the cream/yellow colour of the leather hide showing through. So...

Got a few questions regarding interior trim; see thread in interior section :) Dash board trim questions... So, car is currently running OK having been a bit erratic when under load. Tom at LakeViewMotors re-balanced the carbs which has helped. However the idle seemed to get higher and higher...

    Dash board trim questions...

Few queries: Firstly, I'm missing these two pieces, if anybody can help you I'd be very grateful. Secondly, why won't this fit? I've taken the knobs off and re-seated it but it still wont push up flush against the clock. It seems a long way away from the two metal prongs that I presume...

I've seen a few examples of 4 pot cars using wider than 185s although I guess some of them could have swapped out top links. Anybody on here with any experience?

    Minilite options?

So I got the S1 SD1 wheels restored in silver. 14" x6 Still not sure what tyres to fit. Opinions range from 185, 195 and 205. I'm wanting a bit more grip than standard but want to avoid rubbing and a wildly inaccurate speedo.

    1978 2200TC -'Malcolm'

I'm finding it quite tricky to choose a tyre for the sd1 wheels. They're 14". Some people seem to say 205 70 14, some 195 or 185. I'd love more grip than standard, I'm using the car daily, but don't want to upset handling by going to wide or end up with a wonky speedo.

So the car's time at Lake View Garage is drawing to a close. Lots of welding done to the drivers side of the car. Various repairs to the sill although thankfully didn't require a whole new item. Also found the rear inner arch to be crusty so that has been repaired, seems this was letting water...

    Ballast delete for electronic ignition?

Cool thanks Colin. So I presume the starter has its own power from elsewhere if I disconnect it from the coil. I'll take a look at the back of the tacho and see if I can run some 10 amp wire to the +coil having disconnected both W/Y wires from the coil. This should mean the 12v coil gets...

    Ballast delete for electronic ignition?

So had a look yesterday. There is two white/yellow wires running to the +Coil. One thick, one thin. I presume the thick one runs to the starter motor and the thin one is the ballast to the tacho? If so do I remove both and run a single wire to the back of the tacho? Or just remove one off them...

    Ballast delete for electronic ignition?

So I'm going to hopefully have a look at this tomorrow. See if I can locate the white/yellow (or pink) from the back of the tacho, unplug, run some new 10 amp wire from there are connect to the new 12v Petronix Flamethrower coil to power the Ignitor 2 kit.

    Minilite options?

So a super chap from eBay delivered 5x series 1 SD1 alloys on Sunday. I've now dropped these off to be done in silver at a local body shop. I've ordered a set of nuts from WinsInt that I'm assured fit the sd1 rims to the P6. Next up is finding some suitable tyres for the 14x6.

So I've come by 5x series 1 SD1 alloys from a super chap on eBay who delivered them to Cheshire from down south last Sunday. A fetching shade of gold. I've dropped them at a local body hop to be done in silver. I'll be looking for some suitable tyres to fit and I've ordered some nuts from...

    Ballast delete for electronic ignition?

Ah okidoki. Hence the risk of the tacho no longer functioning. Got ya.

    Ballast delete for electronic ignition?

Thanks Colin. I've not had a look at the wiring yet but would it not be better to leave the tacho connected to the ignition and replace the ballast from the back of the tacho to the coil? Thus leaving the tacho wired in?

    Ballast delete for electronic ignition?

Hi all, I've just purchased a Pertronix 2 ignition kit with a Flamethrower 12v coil to make the most of it. Obviously I could just take a 12v live from the washer motor to power the kit but I'd like to use the 12v coil to give the kit best performance. How do I go about bypassing the...

    Minilite options?

So I've checked and checked again with WinsInt. They seem pretty certain they can supply nuts for the S1 SD1 alloy to P6 stud. So that's positive. The only other thing is tyres.... what to fit? A) to keep the speedo moderately accurate B) something that handles better whilst fitting in the...
