    Greetings from 'Stralia

Welcome Lewis, Seems you've had a fair amount of experience with Rovers, certainly more than I, but, welcome back to the fold. I like to see some pic's of the Rover and also of the Monaro.

    Placing a Rover 3.5L V8 engine into a MGA

Love the MGA and love the 3.5 V8, best of luck, very interested to see how you pull this off.

    Supplier leather seats?

What I found was you can find the original style leather, some searching, but the vinyl will need to be dyed to match. This is not a big deal for a good trim shop.

Three Five Hundred 1971 Lovely Brown Beastie

Just think how sweet it will be once you are motoring safely down the road. The brakes should still be OK since your previous work on them, once you check the quality of the fluid and if they need bleeding. You seemed very close before to getting on the road, so press on. Looking forward to...

    Government MOT exempt discussion forum

I really don't have a dog in this fight, but, in California, known everywhere as the "Nanny" state, we have no inspections of any kind at any time regardless of the condition of the vehicle. Regular car insurance companies will often request you stop by their office so they can look over the...

Wanted : PAS pump for Rover 3500/3500s

Wadham's has this pump. I ordered one about 4 months ago and they couldn't get it 'airmailed' to the US, trace oil or something. This could be sent Parcel Post to you, should not be a problem. I ended up with a used pump for close money.

Hoping to join the V8 set...

Welcome to the forum. I also have an Alfa '69 1750 and I love it, but, when I saw a nice Rover, a car I had loved when I was a teenager, I had to have it. It's my only hardtop of my old cars so it gets a lot of use. They are pretty easy to work on and once sorted, very reliable. The V8 is a...

Wadham's prop shaft u-joint part number is P6CLTUJ2.

    U-joint Information

Barten, you are so right. The collateral effects from fixing this has also cured a shift linkage issue I was having going from 4th to 5th and 5th back to 4th. Occasionally it was reluctant to go smoothly into gear and I guess the loose u-joints were jerking the trans around a little which...

    U-joint Information

I finished putting in the new prop shaft U-joints and the result is better than expected. I not only had the clunking going on, but, kind of a 'hamster wheel' screeching I wasn't sure the u-joints would take care of. Happily, all is well and the car really feels transformed. Thanks harveyp6...

Welcome to the madness Tim. You seem to have a rather eclectic collection, so I think you are good addition to the group. We do like pictures here and even of the car, looking forward to future postings. The Aprilia is a nice piece of kit.

    Clonky/clattery drivetrain at a slow crawl (BW35)

mrtask, Thanks for the good wishes, I'm hoping for the best. Hope you get your sorted as well. BTW, I did run into Leno at a Malibu Cars & Coffee and he was on me as soon as I pulled in to the parking area. He said he hadn't seen one in years and was surprised at what good nick the car was...

    Clonky/clattery drivetrain at a slow crawl (BW35)

I am experiencing the same type of issue you are describing and after checking the trans mounts, motor mounts, exhaust system, prop u-joints and drive u-joints it seems to be the prop u-joints . (In the US we call that the 'drive shaft'.) Harveyp6 set me right on the nomenclature so hopefully...

    U-joint Information

Thanks Barten for the quick reply. I found new ones at Wadham's, however, they show two different sizes and I am not sure which is correct. Needless to say if I could find the Chevy conversion ones that would make things much simpler as they could be sourced locally and the same day and...

    U-joint Information

Well I seem to be in need of new universal joints for my P6B 3500S with 5 speed trans conversion. Somewhere on this forum I think I remember someone saying that Chevrolet truck U-joints will work for our cars, but, I can't find the post. Does anyone know if this is correct and, if so, what the...

SoCal V8, I used your link and noticed that the legacy plates are the cheapest, so much for principles, I'll go black plate. Harvey, cute!

    Malibu C & C

Thanks for the tip, but, I'm too much a purist to go black plate. As you said 2+ years too late, however I do like 72 P6. Actually I was thinking about "XFK 585K" same as the original UK plates, then I actually show a front plate, what do you think???? RE: Sacramento lady: I may have to take...

    Malibu C & C

Love the line 'I wouldn't have anything to hang on the wall'. As for the DMV, I'll make it short. As I purchased the car out of state, Georgia, I needed a 'VIN' check by the CHP. I've had to do this before on other cars and the local CHP officer that does it is a dick. When I called for an...
