Worcestershire Rover P6 Clubs (both!) meeting - Change of Day

We've just arranged our first meeting since the last lockdown... Third Wednesday of the month, so 16 June, but a change of venue as the Fruiterers has shut unfortunately and our alternative, The Dog, wasn't too great so we are trying out the Bay Horse, Hartlebury Road, Stourport-on-Severn, at...

    Rear centre lapbelt

Don't bother with centre lap belts, you really don't want to sit in the middle for any length of time (I did back in the 80s from Bristol to Glasgow - never again!). It's a 4 seater, end of!

    Thoughts on VHI MOT exemption

Not as such, but they can and will do basic checks like checking your tyres which is an easy one to do and would be valid if the accident was caused by losing grip. At the end of the day the law is clear that you need to ensure that your vehicle is roadworthy when you use it in the highways. An...

Auto Express' Top 50 all-time greatest British-built cars

Very few of the cars from my childhood are in there, it seems to be all about the sports car and ignores the "daily" cars. But I suppose that's inevitable with the remit they set themselves... Personally I'd go for the Mk2 Cavalier, had three of them over the years, nice and reliable and...

Recommendation for a supplier of an exhaust for a P6 2200 SC Auto

Well Mark can't get his new ones made up and I don't want to fork out for stainless one as I am not sure I'll keep it long enough and having just moved house money is tight. So anyone know of anywhere else I can try? It's a two box system so I am just looking for the sections with the boxes on...

    Question regarding identity

I'm not in a pedantic mood (at the moment, that could change!), so used it's nickname!! ;) :)

    Outdoor storage

Would agree with Gargo, it'll survive outside for a few years uncovered, but it will deteriorate, put it under a decent cover and it will survive a lot longer with less work needed... The key is the cover, get a decent one, the £50 are not worth the plastic they are made from...

    My boot won’t open.

Thanks chaps, some things to try! It would be nice to get the passenger door lock back in use!

    My boot won’t open.

Whilst we are on the subject of locks, the drivers side one of mine has half a key in it! What's the best way to get it out? (I've tried pliers and can't get enough purchase)

    Carpet replacement

Could that be because it was registered in Germany for the first 3 years? I doubt any dealer would have had it on their forecourts for 3 years!!

    Carpet replacement

Well the Pfennig (German currency) went out in 2002 (replaced by the Euro) so it may well have been to Germany in the late 90s! The decimal 1/2 pence went out in 1984. That coin upside down above the 1/2 looks like it may be a two bob bit? (1971!!) The 10p looks like an older one which went in...

    Fuel sender unit

Just a quick thought, you say you've tested it: how? I am thinking that you've connected it up and moved the float up and down with your hand? If so why not test it in some liquid to see if it's actually working as it should?

    Fuel sender unit

I'd have thought two possible issues, when in the tank it is catching on something and unable to move freely or the float has a hole in it so it's not "floating". If it's the wrong sender unit then it could cause either of the above. Have you compared it with the picture in the parts books to...

My 2001 crash in Rover Metro

I have a book about the Metro in which the designers of the car were surprised by just how robust the car was in a front end collision when it was first tested. Problem was it conveyed all the force generated to the bits of the car which could move... Us... Much the same as most cars of that era...

Worcestershire Rover P6 Clubs (both!) meeting - Change of Day

Haven't a clue, but it probably is as it's quite a high bridge. Having said that the pub is off the A449 and that isn't affected.

Worcestershire Rover P6 Clubs (both!) meeting - Change of Day

Just to let everyone know that we have changed the day of the Worcestershire P6 Clubs meeting from the third Tuesday of the month to the third Wednesday. This means that we don't clash with the Shrops and Staffs meet which we always did! It also means that I can get there! (Tuesday was a bad...
