Hi John, my car is running on a 12v coil, it was when I bought it, from looking at the wiring diagram I thought it should have a ballast resistor but someone must have changed it in the past
I always run on Shell V power with valvemaster plus octane booster and lead replacement additive and never had a problem til this last week. Will wait til the weather cools a bit then try again.

The coil was new and has only done about 500 miles, I am still running points and condenser so that may be worth looking at. Do you know of a good electronic system that works with the RVC tacho?

An update re my rear springs, Wadhams have replaced them with a pair of equal size, all I have to do now is wait for it to stop raining so I can fit them!!
Well, having removed the new springs I find that 1 is 10mm shorter than the other, didn't notice when they arrived, assumed they would be a matching pair with them being new, am still waiting for a reply from J.R.Wadhams!!
Thanks for the replies, the springs were bought new from J.R.Wadhams so I would hope that they were both equal, as far as I could see there were no shims unless they stayed in position when I removed the old springs. I may have to try swapping them, bit of a pain but as was stated they are not...
