For any one who has not got the latest P6 News, there is an advert for a forthcoming 1:18 scale Series 2 V8. Judging by the pictures it will be well worth around the £100 ish :D

There's also a 'net link here http://www.carmodel.com/cult-scale-mode ... 1967/78424

I note that it is to be a resin model as were the 1:24 ones I did many years ago, although these will obviously be larger.

Maybe its a hot P6b, the dvla will want to know about this one! Wrong year wrong rego and wrong colour a mkii rebadged as a series one. Tell me is the manufacturer called Hot Wheels.

PS I want one

Phil,

You mentioned the 1:24 scale resin models you used to do in your original post on this. Weren't they the Outhouse kits?

I bought two of those a long time ago.. I still have mine and I think my brother had the other.

I loved these models. Would you ever have plans to redo them?

Here are a couple of photos of mine today...

A bit dusty, but holding up well.

I love the detail to the underside

Thank-you for your kind comments Colin; yes they were the 'Outhouse' kits. It's nice to see one still looking good after all these years.

I did keep a few back & have made them up over the years:

Looking through my remaining bits & pieces, I also have a few kits left, though some are short of one or two parts especially wheels. The remaining glazing mouldings have yellowed somewhat as well.

I was contemplating doing another run but now it would be pointless, if the 1:18 model is half as good as the pictures!

Phil, that is a fantastic line-up. I love the estate.
There was something very special about your kits and being able to personalise them.

We need photos!

Oh, that is nice.... I might try and scratch build one. I'm guessing its vacuum formed. It would have been better if they'd not included the stainless strips and added these after so they could do an S1 with the same mould.

Please excuse the flash reflections.

The models I did in the past were nowhere near this standard & I charged a lot more for a built up one 20 years ago! Doing the ser 1 & 2 options was a pain when I did it, but things will have moved on since then I suppose. It is made from resin, with no opening doors etc, but this keeps the shut lines realistic & how many times do you want to open a door? There are a few minor criticisms if I was being pedantic, but it is a really excellent model at any price, let alone the £100 charged.

The underside is not detailed (it actually has a live axle in relief) but it is fastened on with screws; I was hoping this was the case as I bought another to respray as my Zircon S, so we'll see how that goes! I once did an MGB in a similar manner, but this looks like it will be much harder
