1968 2000SC

Hi
Wasn't sure where to put this? I bought the interior out of a 68 series 1 last Wednesday from a scrapyard but I thought I would share a couple of pictures of the floors to show the condition of inner sills etc. I would say that I have not seen such good floors on a P6, certainly not in a scrapyard. I feel it is to good to break as from what I could see the main base unit is solid. Way better than mine! The yard owner offered it to me for £700. If anyone is interested it is in Risca South Wales. Happy to pass on the sellers details. Note it no longer has an interior or front number plate20200715_120915.jpg20200715_115043.jpg20200715_115113.jpg20200715_115051.jpg

My word, that does look clean. Did you inspect the D-posts & other rot spots too?
My thinking gears are starting to churn, probably erroneously.

Hi, D posts were just as good. Looked underneath as best as I could due to glass/oil etc but looked solid.. last on road in 93 and stored in a dry garage since. Around 55k miles. Guy thinks it may be a TC but i don't think is. It just seemed to solid to break.. if I had the money I'd have it but the transport cost down here to Cornwall puts it up just past the allowed funds issued by the boss!

the hell hole under the back seat insulation was factory paint and seam sealer!! Plus a little ants nest on passenger side!

Thanks. I'm in London so transport would be an issue too as would storage. It does seem like a very good base unit though. Could you PM me the sellers details please?

Looks nice. Any more pictures, including under the bonnet?

No TC badging, later valance, looks city grey.. guessing a 67 2000 Auto,

By the way, I bought this car. ;)

I took a trip to Wales to view & was extremely impressed with the base unit so a deal was done:

Three weeks after a quick transportation down the M4 to the place of transformation:

Judging by the reg is was originally registered in Cardiff ( not that far from Risca )

I wish I had the space, alas my current project relies on the goodwill of another.

Hi
Surprisingly the seats weren't all that great to be honest. Front seats were incredibly dry and the passenger base unfortunately just split open. He stitching on the flutes has also rotted. I am going to make the best out of the two interiors I have and recolour them dark red. Did get a nice set of front Irvin front seats belts though so that was a bonus. I look forward to see what you do with it....

Well I'll be putting Irvin's back in her for sure along with my black interior & it looks like red carpet at the moment though if l can lay my hands on a pair of auto' mats in Mortlake then l'll have the choice. As it's survived so well my plan is to leave the base unit in it's original City Grey & simply clean & polish it up when the car is stripped of its panels, then transfer my satin black panels on to her. The roof can be painted but l'll see how it looks with the City Grey polished up against the Satin Black first.
Barring carpet, I did pursue a completely black theme in the first car but with the Mk2 it's a fluid plan of action at present & we'll see as we go along.

No, that's far to rich, I like value for money. Unless they were NOS, even so l'll hold out for good secondhand. I did pay a lot for a NOS front passenger carpet for my P5B though.
Prices are going a bit silly now.
