1972 Rover P6 2000 sc
5932 miles. One previous owner from new, 100% original as it came from factory, all original paperwork. Has been dry stored since 1979.
Does run but will need re-commissioning.
It is not perfect but is as stated 100% original, The ONLY non original items on the car are the battery, engine oil and spark plugs which I have just replaced.
The aluminium boot and bonnet have oxidisation and paint has lifted in places. A few slight marks and dents on other body panels.
I have more pictures and a video of engine running if required please ask.
A very rare find.
The car is located in Southampton.

Offers over £10,000 considered.

The over-riders would have been put on by the dealership.

Same as another ultra low mileage Mexico Brown 2000 which surfaced some years ago had 'S' type wheeltrims and nuts on it.

Would they leave off the std underriders by the numberplate??
Wing mirrors look a bit odd??

The overriders, when supplied as an optional extra kit, came with a different front number plate plinth as part of the kit. the plinth was then fixed to the front bumper with two chrome, dome headed bolts. This meant that the underriders could then be dispensed with.

Roly.

Very nice; it never ceases to amaze me how many really low-mileage cars still keep surfacing.

I often wonder what sort of cars the Rover buyer of the 60s and 70s would buy now. It seems to me that a number of cars were bought, perhaps as a retirment car / present, and hardly used, and then being kept within families for decades. What will turn up in 30-40 years? - low mileage Jaguar XFs, Mercedes, or, as in the case of my old local Rover dealer, Hyundais and Kias :)

This is advert for sale guys not a forum, I guess you are all very knowledgeable but come on get a life its all very anal and you sound like you all sport huge Anoraks ! some are excused

1) As the above post was posted four times, I took the decision to delete three of them, as they were identical..

2) To the original poster; actually, it is a forum, albeit the buy/sell/etc part of it.

As with any subject posted on the CRF, there will always be comments made. And yes, there are some right anoraks on the forum, myself included.. As long as it's kept clean and tidy, everyone gets to play.

Spotting details especially when a car is so original is part of the geek factor fun. It should not be taken as criticism, 'cos it isn't.
