Brit Bike Expert wanted to find a motorcycle...

Oh no you did not.

You killed me

What half of me should be more irritated?

(VERY interesting to see how The Dutch are regarded "over there"!!!)

Can I throw you a suggestion?

rather than trying to find an old classic, what about some new classics BEFORE they become classics?

the 900 series of Triumphs are destined to become collectors items ie the big sprints, thunderbirds etc. Even a 900 Thunderbird Sport is pretty sought after now.

Interesting suggestion, they are always making plenty of new but it is a little more difficult to make old unless ..... you have a time machine :D
One thing that is priceless is age and time, you don't want to be 90 years old before other people appreciate your classic.
This doesn't apply to just cars but one thing that always struck me was in gardens and park trees, plant them as a seedling and wait 20 years before you could even begin to appreciate them, always depressed the hell out of me so I bought grown trees instead.
But it is a good suggestion to buy new, so long as you are happy with the purchase, a use now proposition, but to buy with the expectation of possessing a classic however is a step too far unless you are 15 or 16 and have the time and foresight to do so.
Now back to my JB Triple Black

Actually, I'm not sure... I've a nagging feeling that the joke runs the other way, i.e. a German is a Dutchman with the spine removed. You're best placed to know - which half has the greater difficulty holding its shape?
