Bushes

I have bought new bushes for the rear top links as they were very badly worn.

I removed the old bushes, rubber and metal and tried to press the new ones in using my vice.

I didn't get them in and sort of buckled the bush slightly.

I applied a blow torch to the link but no joy.

Is there a secret or do I take them to a garage that will do them in seconds???

advice urgently required..

I did the same recently on the large bottom link bushes tried to insert them with a vice no chance, eventualy took both bottom links and new bushes to a little back street garage which had a press.Ten minutes and five pound later job done not worth the bother messing about at home.regards gary

Great news,

I had another go without the heat.

I lubbed them up and gently tapped around them adding more lubb.

Hey presto. got the four in easily, even the one I mangled.

Just goes to show that a good nights sleep can make all the difference.
