BW 35 gearbox rear mount and park issue

Hi
looking for advice on 2 items re BW35 auto box in my series 1 P6 V8. The car sometimes clunks when changing up or down and the rear bush definitely needs replacing. There appear to be 2 different bush types available but the current one is in poor condition. Is there a way to tell which type it is before removal of the housing. I am planning to support the box in situ and just remove the housing for replacement of the bush but do not want to remove then wait for a replacement with everything supported in the back garden awaiting the new part delivery?
My local parts specialist here in UK would be JR Wadhams which have both listed but I don't really want to order both and then have the hassle of returning the incorrect one.
Any advice on carying out this switch would be gratefully appreciated.

Second issue relates to adjustment of the gear select. The car will usually only start in neutral and park does not fully engage (car can be pushed when in park) however with front end jacked up and park selected by additional rotartion of the selector startting is OK and park is correctly applied. Selection of reverse 1 and 2 are fine and work correctly. Choosing D is usually ok but occasionally remains in neutral. Occasionally firm or rapid movement into park will mean that park fully engages and engine will start in park. Can anyone advise where to start in terms of adjustment or troubleshooting the linkage?
Thanks

My P6 (George) is a bit of a mongrel with the previous owner having swopped out the block for that from a 3.9 Disco while retaining original head carbs and sump.

The rear mounting bush depends on the type of mounting bracketry that you have fitted. A pic would help identify. Your plan of action sounds good to me.

As for the selector linkage, make sure that the compensator assembly isn't loose on the bellhousing. Then slowly shorten the droplink, making a note of your starting point.

Thanks for the advice. I have attached 2 images below of the mount.

I have this if it is of any use to you? It is the old fitting from my car. I bought a new complete fitting with the bush already installed to replace it at some cost. I only replaced it as I had the gearbox out for refurbishment and I thought it was damaged/worn as the hole isn't in the centre. I have since learnt that they are supposed to be like that!! It is not new of course and has some wear but the rubber is still stiff and it is very serviceable. I had no bumps or clunks and really had no real need change it. It's free for the postage if you want it or collection (if allowed!). I am in Bristol.

hi
Thanks for the kind offer but I have already placed the order for the replacement. Can I come back to you if I find any issues with mine when I manage to get round to the swop?
