The front flexi band should be used with the self adjusting servo, but, the servo body is the same so it shouldn't make the band give the problem you have. All the struts are 0.215. I've had the same problem, and it was an incorrectly made (or wrong type supplied) flexi band, so I replaced with a solid band.

Follow up:
the box is back in the car and works fine again.
The only problem I have (like before) is that if the box is half warm, it refuses to go in the second gear.
If I select D2 and then D1 again the problem is gone for the rest of the ride.
I could live with it, but is that something with the governor?

That could be a governor fault. Sometimes the governor can be a bit sticky if the box has been left unused for a long time. You may find it gets better with use. If you were really keen and had convinced yourself that it was a governor fault, it can be removed, overhauled, and refitted without removing the gearbox.
