BW35 Rear Gearbox Mount

For my little P6, the time has come to replace all the rubber in the drive train (including the engine mounts, gearbox and diff mounts.)

Trouble is, I cant seem to find the rear gearbox rubber mounts anywhere (although I did find some similar ones on MGBD, but they are listed as exhaust mounts.) :(

I have included some photos of the mounts.

Here is the link to the ones I found on MGBD

Here are the links to JRW
http://www.jrwadhams.co.uk/browse-p6-ca ... -bw65.html
http://www.jrwadhams.co.uk/browse-p6-ca ... -bw35.html

The JRW part which is listed as a mount for the BW65 looks about right, the other part looks like the one for the the single bush in an alloy casting.. The BW65 "bobbin" mentions welding too  - not sure what sort of lunatic would weld a bush in place, but whatever..

According to my mechanic, I have a BW35 box, so maybe someone put a BW65 box rear mount? Or Maybe the little fellow had a BW65 that blew up, and they just changed the box?

I'm sure someone here will be able to help me :D

FYI: Here is a listing I found which shows an entirely different mount to what my petrol drinker has..

If those pictures you have posted are of your actual box, then you have a BW65 , not a BW35 box as you mentioned.

They are available from winns also.

 - No, I did not know that.. My mechanic told me it was a BW35.. I asked him to put the car on a lift so I can take some photos of the underside while he "assessed" my car.. You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject, as this is my first car, and I have never actually seen a BW35 in person, so I couldn't identify it myself.. However now I know what a BW65 looks like :D

According to the chap I bought the car from, it had had a new box put in (I imagine he meant recon) though he didn't specify what it was.. But to be fair, he said a lot of things that were b######s, he claimed the rear brake pads had been changed (except they had 1.2MM left when I took it for its first MOT after driving all of 3 miles.) The only thing he said that was true so far was that it has a goldseal engine with short reach plugs, double valve springs and stainless valves..

So yes enough babbling, those are of my box, under my car, and I thank you and colnerov for the info - and no prizes for guessing what I will be doing next weekend

don't all p6 heads have this?

Yep.

Well.. In that case - everything the chap said that the car had had done was b######s.. It is however, most definately a P6  - and as a 26yo who drives it to and from work every day, I can tell you that no modern car comes close to it..

Unless ofcourse you are like my brother, and drive it round a roundabout at 50Mph, with no seatbelt and the window open.. You might just find yourself holding onto the steering wheel for dear life.. Or you discover the wonders of no-ABS brakes in the rain - two reasons why I will never lend him the car again..

Almost 12AM, time for me to go to bed..
