Does any one have, or know where I can get a new replacement metalastik rear gearbox mounting bush, part number 572893? Mine has seen better days!!20200506_191439.jpg20200506_191429.jpg

Sadly he only has 565330 which fits in a fabricated bracket. It is the later one for series 2 and late series 1. Already checked!!

I will do a bit of searching around. I am sure it is a standard bush size. It is 1 7/8" wide, 2 1/4" outer diameter and 1/2" inner diameter the inner sleeve is wider than the outer at 2 3/8". I have found in the past that Rover, as everyone else, used off the shelf standard sizes. It is possible that the same bush is used on another car with spares supplies available. It's just a case of being patient and doing a lot of searching!

I don't think it will be an off the shelf bush because the hole in it is off-centre, but who knows, you may be right. But then again, no other car uses P6 top and bottom ball joints....

Yessir I have one of those, new in the packet.
Errm hang on, been measuring, 2 1/4" OD, 1 1/4" wide, centre tube is just shy of 1 3/4", 1/2" hole. Centre is off set.

If you cannot get one at all this would work if you made some spacers to go either side of it.

If the OP does get stuck, ISTR Jim Corazon had a good used one in a polished housing (isn't everything you have polished Jim?) that he was willing to sell.

Very recently sold I’m afraid, glinting under somebody’s car as we speak.

I’m selling all my polished bits lol. My project will have hardly anything polished after all..Offenhauser valve covers, stainless fuel tank and jag diff cover is all I can think of :p

There is an Australian Ford Falcon mount which works with minimal modification. We used it about 5 years ago and whilst I don't remember the part number, at the time I did give details to David W the RCCA parts guru so could possibly get the info if all else fails.
