Can I mix different PAS fluid when topping up?

My power steering pump leak seems to be getting worse. What had previously been the odd drip is now more of a growing puddle on the garage floor. :(
Whilst I wait for my preferred mechanic to let me know he has the time to work on my car, I was wondering if I should top up as much fluid as has already escaped?
He's always pretty busy so it might be a while before he can help me out.
The level in the reservoir hasn't dropped to the top of the filter, or below the dipstick, so perhaps I shouldn't worry?
Anyway, my system is filled up with a clear fluid called LiquiMoly TopTec1300, which retails here at about 15 quid a litre. !!!
I realise I am a cheapskate.
After fitting a new seal kit to the pump, I dare say my mechanic would then fill it all back up with a less expensive gloop. Comma or similar? Red stuff? What stuff?
Can/should I pour a bit of a cheaper brand of red ATF in to top up in the meantime, or would that be ill advised?

It’s not good to mix ATF and more dedicated PAS fluids as far as I know.
My daily Volvo V70 year is on the cusp of using either ATF or specialist green Pentosin stuff and there’s always lots of confusion about what to use in which year car etc. Generally if things are flushed the alternative can be used but mixing is considered a no no..

No personal experience as our Series1 steering is manual, but enclose an interchange from RoverCarClubAustralia website which seems pertinent.
Don't know whether Nulon is available to you.

Leaking profusely . Actually works OK if you can keep the fluid up to it."

"I have had great results with Nulon stop leak steering fluid.
Both in Toyota 4Runner and P5B.
Both were gushing (not in a nice way) but not anymore!!

Cheers G"
