Car covers

I have two of the old girls at the moment (my Rovers that is ) and am looking at a third one. However if I get this one it will need to be in a carport. The duco is in excellent condition. So, carcovers... As I live in a relatively dry inland town in Victoria, Australia, things like snow or sea salt aren't factors. Its just dust, dirt. etc. What would members recommendations be for something suitable ?. I'm not looking at the $22 buck cheap and nasty from Aldi or Kmart.

Cheers, Lewis

Hi Lewis,
I do recommend car covers.... As for what is available local to you, I can't recommend. Just to let you feel better I live in Atlantic maritime dominant weather systems, always damp.

I've had two covers over the last few years, the first was a Cover-zone Stormforce, the second from Car Cover Factory Premium-edition-car-cover - P6
To tell you the truth I thought they would be identical, assumed manufactured in the same factory somewhere in the world and just marketed by different companies, but they are of different quality. The 2nd is lasting longer than the first did.
If you could get it for senseable postage, I would recommend the CarCoverFactory covers. Even for under a carport, they are felt on the inside, bead water and do breath.
Good luck with your search and although the above may not be directly relevant, given you are inland Victoria, I hope it was some help.

G'day
Gav

I have a Tyvek cover on the 928, been using it for years now. Its very light, being unlined, and fairly easy to put on....although it can be a pain when you cant throw it right over, and it slides off the roof. Only used indoors to keep dust and flies off the paint. Had another cheap cover on a car outdoors, and it was not a breather, and the interior developed a lot of mould. Check any possible purchases for a soft non-scratching inside, and being breathers - especially important if you have a leather interior. Being outdoors you will need one that can be tied in place to stop abrasion due to flapping.
