Carb leak - 2200 SC

MoT examiner had to evacuate inspection pit in panic due petrol leak from my carb falling on his head via the hot exhaust pipe of the running engine. Investigation showed that petrol was coming out from behind the stabilising bracket held by two bolts to the side of the carb, which goes down to the heat shield. Fortunately he had finished checking, but the car failed on the petrol leak. They lent me a car to get my spare carb which I fitted and all ok on re-test - back on the road!! Can't work out what would cause the leak - stuck float perhaps - any ideas anyone ?? Car going like a rocket on the different carb, so leaving well alone. Will now fit replacement rear wing -eBay £10 (rustfree) and get the downshift cable done. Steve

congrats on the mot!

Sticking float is the usual reason for petrol being ejected.....
