Carb Removal TC

Happy New Year to all !

I was reassembling carbs/manifold yesterday and I noticed that one of the rubber mountings holding the carbs has perished. It's a two-piece affair that snaps together with a large washer stuck to one side, and slips on to a long thin stud. Would anyone know the correct name or part number? I'll try to order a pair from Unwin's.

Also I have two nuts missing, that hold the Carbs to the thick metal plate at the back, There are four each side, bottom ones missing. I'd appreciate if someone knows the thread size please?

You could do with getting a parts manual Brian.

They have an exploded diagram of all the various assemblies in your car, with part numbers and a handy list in the back of what they are called and the sizes of the nuts and bolts and thread types. Very useful.

Often come up on ebay or try the clubs.

The threads r almost certainly 1/4 UNF - those fixing carbs to adaptors are 1/4 UNF. Front and rear adaptors are 566717 and 566718 - different, and wont be cheap! Cant see exactly what you refer to in the rubber mounts? You seriously need a parts book - P/no 606128 is mine, dated 1969. Try to find the latest date you can, muxch better indexes.

Sorry. Just a bit annoyed.

Money gone from account, no confirmation, no membership number. Cant log in. Their email system is dead no contact.
Cap in hand to missus again next week!

Are you referring to the rubber mounts 212558 & 90503663? Picture from my 2200 parts book
212558 is also used on Early Land Rover for the fuel pump mounting . S1 LR club sells them and available from Charlsworth Mouldings Search - 212558 (charlesworthmouldings.co.uk)

Yes, that's them alright. I described them to Geoff at Wins this morning, he has them in stock. I should have them next week or so,
Cheers and thanks for the part numbers.

And that 90xxx number is actually Rover's 503663 part number, if that helps any.

The 90 prefix was added to certain Rover part numbers when BL came about as Triumph also had six digit numbers, some the same as Rovers. 88 was added to the relevant Triumph ones and 90 to Rover ones, to differentiate between them. The actual part stayed the same in each case. . Its worth when now searching on the internet for a Rover number with no result to add a 90 on the front to see if anything comes up, and vice versa with 90 prefix ones as suppliers may be just using the 6 digit version. Don't get me started about replacing perfectly good Rover numbers for Unipart ones for some spare parts.

I was working in the era of the Unipart number, my employer usually crossed out that number and wrote the "proper" number in its place once the parts were in his storeroom. Which actually confused me fairly often, as Unipart numbers started before I started working on Brit cars, so I had no memory of the original numbers.
