Checking engine number

Hi Folks
Unusual problem experienced in that the engine number of my recently acquired Rover 3500 (P6B) is incorrect and I'm wondering does any one know the mystery of these numbers.

So my papers show engine number H52022445B but the engine block number reads 105.10R then 45502246B on a second line, which certainly adds up for V8 engine numbers of the period.

I'm most interested if anyone knows what the H520XXXX number is really for; and also what the 105.10R on the first line of the engine block number stands for?

Cheers

PS: My car is an export build P6B that appears to have been picked up in the UK (and there were schemes in the day that allowed this to happen...)

455... is the engine number.
105.10R must be read as 10.5:1CR, compression ratio.
H520..., I do not know

It's not a stretch that the 45 could have become the H5 when read on the back of the block with a mirror and flashlight, possibly on a hot engine.
The same applies to the 105.10R, it should read 10.5CR, which is the compression ratio of the engine.
