chrome trims

Hi all , I have sucessfully removed the chrome trim running the length of the roofline/gutter.
Painted my roof and just spent a few moments trying to refit the trim. Gave up.
Not sure how to tackle refitting it,so thought someone may have done it and could offer some advice.
Thanks Karl

I just placed it where it should be, eased the top down into place with one hand, and tapped the lower edge under the lip with the palm of the other hand. Then work all the way long, and the last bit just pings into place.

Done ,i just used combination of both my hand and the mallet and was actually easy as. Thanks Guys
The reason I couldn't get it on last night turns out that I was trying to stretch the next profile/curve of the trim under the guttering.
Ah na

I believe you can actually remove the roof panel without removing these which I wished I'd known two years ago...

You were wise to sleep on it and not force it. Usually you can quite clearly see how it came off, except if you painted/rustproofed underneath. Being less patient than you, I had to source a spare on one side....

Yes when removing them i was extremely careful as i had on a post somewhere here that they were easy to bend.
I was surprised how easy it was to fit after i slept on it lol.
I have painted the roof and i/4 panels in black rubber paint and have used a turtlewax trim paint to protect it.
Time will tell if it survives but if it doesn't i will get some vinyl to cover it.
It is supposed to be easy to peel off (the rubber paint)
I had the local engineering company yesterday come down the road and weld both ends of the dash to the pillars so now can reassemble the dash.
My s/hand heater box turned up this morning so will open it up and see what needs doing before fitting it.
Making some progress anyway.
