Continued project race/ track car

Many thanks for the warm welcome. I have a few issues to sort out with it but starting with interior with upgraded. Before sorting out engine and drivetrain. Will keep you posted.

Ah, look forward to seeing the progress :). I built the car before I sold it on and it had the top end changes (including the obvious - supercharger), respray, different seats and mirrors and possibly a few other bits and bobs :)

This is the original thread on here: Rover P6 4.6 V8 Road/Race car.

Are you planning on keeping the mirrors and 'eyes'? Out of curiosity :D

If you do have any questions about the car please feel free...you will find some oddities :D

I would really like to know how the original 4 speed can withstand the brute power of your supercharged 4.6.
Are you just caressing the pedal or have you ever tried to floor it?

Just a quick update. New dash going on with more detailed gauges to let me know what the engine is doing. Plus an on-board front and rear camera recording. For fun and proof. Plus it helps me see all past the supercharger.lol

Havent floored it yet as the welds on the intake manifold aren't going to take the pressure. It goes really well as you can imagine .. going gentle till that gets sorted ,the eyes are off. Not so sure on the mirrors. And going to uprate the diff and get a new box. Might try a rx8 box. Been told there ok. New paint job on the way after interior and a bit more weight shedding.......

More problems from the blower..... manifold welds leaking and manifold now has a crack. And leaks fuel so not going anywhere till that is now sorted. Problems problems problems. Anyone recommend a decent manifold that will handle the pressure.?

Was the manifold just of poor quality then? What has it got in it? Where are the fuel leaks?

If you floor it, the 4 speed will not last any time at all if all is running correctly with the charger. Or maybe the diff, who knows which first.

Glad the eyes are off. Standard lights back in place?

The dash looks interesting and it certainly needs things to keep an eye on what's going on. Will you cap it off with some of the original bits to keep some 1970s character?

Hi. Yes got an old p6 that has seen better days bodywise so using it as a donor. The manifold has a crack or two with I have not welded up and it will be going back together soon. More pics on the way. Have a good new year to all.

Progress. Will attach more photos when I shrink them down. As stated before new seats fitted anyone and charger have been rebuilt and msd ignition fitted and more to come.

good stuff, at the risk of being late for work ive just had a quick scan through your original thread, very encouraging/great read. i like the 2.5 spring conversion thought about doing that myself, dont suppose you would like to share the length/poundage of the springs you used would you?

 Looks really mean Leigh! Even though your car is a four door saloon, somehow I'm reminded of the Interceptor in the original Mad Max movie. I would shudder with fright if I saw itin my rear view mirror.
Can you oblige with a photo of the front from dead center, eye level with the new grille louvres, so the blower scoop seems higher than the roof? I need a new desktop image! :(
