Di-Dion Gaiter

Hi, help needed for someone who must be thick as a brick with regards the Di-Dion gaiter.
I have the car in the air with the rear wheels hanging, managed to get all bolts ,studs out from the right side end (gaiter end) and now i am stumped!!, ive read that you only need to unbolt the gaiter end to replace the gaiter, my question is how do you get the new gaiter on, everything i have seen on the subject, does not actually say how to get the new one on.
Sorry if this is a question about a simple sounding task, but its got me stumped.

Many thanks Steve.

Read the whole of that thread. I found it quite hard to get the rh elbow clear of the tube far enough to feed the new boot in and stretch it over the flange, but got there in the end. A bit of jacking directly on the off side wheel opened the gap up, starting from having both rear wheels hanging free.

Hi, Yes jacking both wheels up so the driveshafts are parallel with the floor creates the biggest gap for the De-Dion tube.

try as i might i just couldnt get the gaiter to go over the flange, thought that any more twisting and pulling about would damage it, so in the end decided to remove the complete tube, came off fairly easily, cleaned it all up, and re greased, popped on the new gaiter, all back together in a couple of hours, went for a quick drive around the block, checked the gaiter, all looks good and straight, so tighten up the retaining clip, job done.

many thanks for the advice
regards Steve.
