My Elan uses Rover check straps, so I would take 6 Steven.

Great, I’ll check the spare doors in the basement to see if I have some.

Damn, looks like it's a series 2 part. I've checked both the spare rear doors and the ones on my car (both Series 1 cars) and they all seem to just be a T head spindle that slides in the track. No nylon parts. If you have a spare one from a rear (less wear) that you can send me I could make a quick CAD model. Just to remind you I'm in the New York City Metro area.
