Door seal Replacement.

Greetings everyone from across the pond. I'm the proud owner of a 1972 3500 in beautiful Davos White, which came with it's usual bit of issues. I'm moving on to replacing rubber seals, most of which are fairly ragged. I'm planning on replacing the vertical rubber seals that are situated between the front and rear doors and which are mounted to the rear door. The current seals, which I believe to be original, are mounted with heavy staples to a metal framework that is riveted to the rear door. As it doesn't seem reasonable to remove the rivets so that I can then access and remove and replace the staples that attach the rubber seal to it's mounting frame, I assume that after removing the staples and the old seal, the new seal is just affixed with an adhesive. The replacement seals, purchased from JR Wadham, come in a bulk role, and, don't have grommets for staples. I'd appreciate any insights and advice. Thank you.

I've always drilled out the rivets and removed the entire seal, then made up new staples out of stainless lock wire.

Thanks for the info. I assume you have a rivet gun to replace them. I'll have to look into getting one. Thanks , again,
