Doors & Wings

As I'm sure many of us have on here, I have too many spares that get in the way.

I'm seriously going to have a thin-out & I'm going to move a pretty good set of wings & a good set of doors on. The wings will be off various cars & some may be without trim holes, but the doors all came off the same series 2 car, so have the trim holes in. It would be sensible if the doors could therefore all go together as they should line up well with each other. They may be missing their front rubbers.

They would need collecting & I'm in East Yorkshire. I just want them to be used by someone & won't want silly money for them - around £60 for each door & £40 for each wing?

I have just had a look at a couple of the doors & tbh they are just starting to go a bit rusty on the lower edge but not much at this stage.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Many thanks!

Sorry, but I’ve only got a few shims which I’ve been using recently to set the 2000’s doors up properly. No sill seals either.....

I have now got this set of doors out & they are all pretty good, with only a small amount of blistering on the driver's door.

These will all go on ebay very soon because I think they're only going to deteriorate & I've got another excellent set in storage too . The issue is the collection, but at a 99p start price they will hopefully tempt someone!

HI Phil,

Did these sell in the end? After a driver's door, driver's side rear door and passenger side rear wing if you still have them.

Cheers
Michael

Hi Michael,

The doors sold (very well :)) but I haven't sorted any wings out yet. I'm using my best passenger side rear for Hazel - are you after a 'mint' one or just one without the usual rust at the top?

Thanks,

Phil.

PS: There's what appears to be a good set of wings on ebay at the moment in York. ROVER P6 Wings used good condition all steel | eBay

Thanks Phil,

Whatever panels I source will go back to bare for a respray, so the cosmetic condition isn't important, but they do need to be very solid - surface rust only really.

But to show the scale of the mountain I have to climb, here's my existing driver's side rear door...

there ain't no carcass left!

Thanks for the heads-up on those wings. I only need a passenger rear wing, and that blue one looks like it might be a bit battered!

That's awful. My scrap doors are in better condition than those.

Incredible isn't it?!
Ironically, the skin is fine from the outside, with only the usual mild blistering along the seam weld at the bottom, but the carcass itself is completely gone along the 'slam' side. I'm told driver side rear doors are harder to come by, presumably due to condensation and mildew build-up if they are statistically the least opened door..?
