Electric Window wiring

Does anyone have a circuit or maintenance diagram for the P6B lectric Windows? I purchased the window mechanisms years ago and have just gotten around to servicing the motors (new brushes all round and cleaned up commutator) The parts manual shows the parts , the maintenance manual is silent and the electric wiring diagrams don't even have a pick up point on them. I have what I think is the complete harness and I think power comes directly from the floor stud via a 6RA relay and overload protector. Relay and protector isn't wired up though so I'm not that certain what goes where. I'm also wondering how the wiring gets into the door and out of the pillars? I've located new switches and Pierre in England provided a nice new facia plate via ruth in Canada (I'm also working on the factory air conditioning). all help would be appreciated

I'd suggest you pick up the workshop manual for the TTF and 3500S. I could scan stuff for you, when I get around to it but when you're building the electric window circuit and factory airconditioning into an exisiting car you basically are altering the wiring loom to NADA 3500S specification, which would make a workshop manual a decent investment. You can pick them up for around $50,- , anything above that on eBay is too much :)

The part manual for the TTF & 3500S is a little rarer, but not as useful for what you are doing.

Have they scanned in the early TTF manual then Rich? I'd be interested then.. the later manuals are useless for NADAs and equipment associated to them.

I thought they had all the v8 ones...

I could be wrong of course... redrover will be the man to ask...

Hi Andries,

We've scanned the complete 3500 and 3500S manuals and parts catalogues from all years to create a comprehensive guide on one disc.
We are also intending to do the same with the four-cylinder models, but will split this up into 2 or 3 discs to cover a range of model years.

thankyou all for your help, That wiring diagram is a new one on me but does not have the electric window pickup point nor the window ciruits...I own about four or five P6B manuals but I have never heard of TTF? The Windows have their own loom, much like the SD1 AUS/US cars had a sepreate loom for their fuel injection. The Air con has everything stuffed into the one box and the switch panel and the manuals I have go into great detail about what goes where. My principle issue is knowing where the pickup points are for the the window harnesss and how the wiring gets from inside the car to inside the doors. My preference would be to purchase a paper manual but PDf would be good.

I think I have sorted out my main issue, the 6RA relay for the windows and its overheat cutout are located on the right side of the centre console on a small plate, the 6 RA relay for the Air Con is located on a similar small plate on the left side of the centre console! The power for the air con comes via (in place of)the heater circuit and I suspect the main power for the windows comes direct from the floor plug with both relays switched from the ignition circuit pickup point. the three wires for the front doors are for up, down and earth while the back door have up, down, earth and a power supply line for the door switch. I can sleep at nightagain now!
