Picked these bad boys up for $5nz - Yeah I know , I stole them . Came with no rips or holes , complete with perfect side buttons .
Just different colours at the moment .
Picked up a can of duplicolour at Supercheap Auto . Perfect colour match for my Toledo Red seats - $18nz
They're going to get a splash of vinyl recolouring tomorrow when the sun comes out .
Ive heard good things about this vinyl recolour in a can . I did the google thing.
I'll post some pics later unless they turn out sh**t.
If it turns out real good I may do my sunburnt parcel shelf.

I managed to get two coats on between showers of rain .
Next to each other the cover was similar even though the base colours were different.
Was looking good at this stage

Next came the compatabilty test .ie does it fit with the rest of my toledo red interior .
Short answer - NO
Far too shiny and 4 shades too bright .
Ah well, I was never a big fan of ET from the onset
I had to try.
I do like the way the side button controls the forward/back movement on the ET's - very well engineered Team Rover . I always thought they were some sort of light that never worked .

I think you can call that a success. Need to kill the gloss a bit though...
Thanks Peter
Yes it was a success insofar as a good cover from a spray can , but like you say - bit glossy .
Im kinda convinced on DIY recolouring your vinyl now though .
I don't think Im ready to attack the rest of the interior until I can get the match more in line .

Actually the gloss has flashed off over the last 12hrs . Bit more satin/matt like the rest of the furniture .
I'll wear darker sunglasses and see if the colour softens a few shades .

Actually looks pretty good in the photos to me. You can get vinyl sprays colour matched but it costs.

I've found it practically impossible to match the original materials in a P6. The vinyl adopts a very distinctive pattern which looks like its "dirty" in the grain but in fact isn't. You notice this especially with buckskin. You will lose this when you paint it. Perhaps you can even call that an improvement.

To this end I've kept every scrap of original vinyl from door panels, glove boxes and d-pillars and I've recovered damaged b-posts perfectly. Never needed to do ETs though.

I've even bought new OEM carpets for the footwell and patched the centre and sill carpets with the "good" part of the old footwell carpet from under the seat....
