exhaust manifold difference ?

From the parts maniual it is not clear whether there is any difference (for example in internal diameter) between een P6 Series One and P6 Series Two exhaust manifold.
Is there anyone who might answer this question ?

Hi, yes there are two different sizes, but 50 yrs on there's no guarantee which size is on any given engine now.

About which sizes did you refer to ? internal diameter ? which Series has the larger diameter, 1 or 2 ?
Thanks

I believe the Manual gearbox exhaust manifolds are bigger bore. At one stage the autos had different LH and RH manifolds, where the manual ones were the same both sides, but not sure when this occurred. I wouldnt expect the parts book to provide this sort of info.

Hi, Series 1 auto manifolds were smaller bore, the larger bore came in with the series 2 manuals. the auto and manual downpipes were different, the auto joining together by the bellhousing and manual's at the rear of the gearbox. The downpipe and system is no guarantee of size because I have modified different systems to fit on the 'wrong' manifolds and so may others. Any differences of manifolds left to right would have been due to the fitting of an AED on the early cars, later ones are the same side to side. P5b manifolds are different side to side and not interchangeable. Range Rover manifolds although similar the left hand one is peculiar to the vehicle. Perhaps Harvey can elaborate further with any more info.
