Following the Originality / value etc. thread. This is the intended outcome of my current P6 project.

Richard, as you will see it pretty much matches what you are planning !
In terms of window seals, most modern convertibles have a cunning system of dropping the windows slightly when you open the doors and then winding them back up when you close them, so the glass can push into the seal a bit.

I was going for another convertible, and it's still part of the plan, but as with all plans. However another cunning idea I have is to split the roof roughly where the rear 1/4 glass will be, an make it into a 2 peice roof that will fit in the boot. I've measured it and in theory it will just fit if I move the fuel tank.

This would be a lot easier than making a good soft top ! Although I've got my eye on those new A4 convertibles, I've seen a few breaking and think the hood may be a close fit for the P6, this would require some fairly major rear deck reconstruction to get the hood to drop in.

Hi Webmaster,

The wheels on that coupe picture look nearly identicle to the Jeep alloy I have lurking in the garage, waiting for a trial fitment!:D

I really like the proportions of that, Richard! Can't quite decide what has happened at the back of the roof. Front edge of rear 1/4 panel in usual position, rear screen nudged forward to lengthen boot/rear decker? The impression of a slightly long rear really sets it apart. Very yankee early 60's coupe. Hope that was how you wanted us to react?!

My image was based on this original image from Street Machine many years back.

From this you can just about make out that the roof line is the same, just a bit shorter, the 1/4 panel is narrowed and then slightly angled forward, so the rear deck will be a bit longer. This is very similar to the way the Graber coupe looks.

Sweet!
No one has ever accused me of thinking small, so here goes with MY fantasy P6.
5.4L Ford quad cam V8 Supercharged (Oh yea, 600hp out of the box)
6 Speed TREMEC manual with quick shift. (strong and lots of ratios to choose)
Custom 9 inch diff (same pattern as Rover diff with inboard brakes)
2 doors (looks good)
Chopped roof ( I think that 6 inches lower would be cool)
AIRBAG SUSPENSION!!! (you can see where I am going with this on BC2)
19 inch Superlite wheels with low profile tyres (does 12 inches wide seem excessive?)
Full roll cage with racing seats (5 point harness as well, don't want to be flung out at speed)
Space frame from firewall forward ( the engine wont fit otherwise, I've checked)
Flared guards in fibre glass ( hey I'm not going to spend the rest of my life beating the things out of alloy!)
Mad, impractical and damn fast. Just how I like my cars. When I win the Lottery I will make a start, I had to put the 4.6 quad cam into my Range Rover, and it is a BEAST! Turned the chassis into twisted wreakage, but fun while it lasted.
We can only dream......... :p Anyone got any other outlandish plans for a P6?

Cheers

GUY

Hey rick, what about getting some wolfrace slotmags?
You can get 5 bolt chevy / jag wolfies fairly cheaply. You'd just have to get them redrilled to fit the rover stud pattern.
You can then tig weld some ally plugs in the old holes, grind back the welds and polish them out along with the rest of the wheel and you'd never know it wasn't made for a P6!

MY fantasy P6 consists of 3500S wheel trims, 3500 standard steering wheel, front bumper with no badges and no badge bar and THEN, I'm in heaven, hoping to get there sometime this year or next year.

this is a great thread , what's your fantasy P6 consist of and can you make head or tail of any of the posts above?
