After almost 5 years of ownership I've decided it's time to sell my 2000TC. It's a very early series 1 first registered in February 1967 and UK market cars were only available from around November '66. Finished in Arden green it has real road presence.

Regular forum members will no doubt have read about me buying it and subsequently rebuilding the base unit. The repairs were also featured in the P6 Club's Driver magazine. I've cut out all the usual rust areas on the base unit and replaced them with fresh steel so it's a solid car but cosmetically challenged - you could run it as it is, but it really needs painting to make it a nice car. The underside was bare metalled in most places and painted with Epoxy Mastic 121 paint followed by Dinitrol underseal and cavity wax. Most of the panels are good but the doors will need replacing. A good set of Winguard door mirrors are fitted.

The interior is a mix of black leather and sandalwood trim. From the driver's seat the view it great, with lovely Series 1 toggle switches on the dash and that fantastic strip speed in front of you. The front seats are in excellent condition, rears are OK and the rest could be tidied up to make it match with leather and vinyl paint - the sandalwood areas are a bit faded. It's fitted with a Irvine static belts as you can see in the pictures.

Mechanically it's in good shape with a fresh MOT. The rear brakes have been overhauled and have stainless bore liners and the front have been upgraded to V8 spec calipers. It runs and drives fine and the handling is nice and tight. The gearbox is a little noisey so there's a spare included along with a new clutch. It currently has the big HD8 carbs as from the factory but there's also a set of later HIF44 carbs included. The radiator is the rare integral header tank and oil cooler one which has a new core.

Overall it has the makings of a really nice car with the added bonus of being one of the oldest 2000TC's left on the road. I've done the hard work on the base unit and it just need finishing off to make it presentable. If you're interested in taking it on you're welcome to come and view it and I'm open to offers around £1500.

PM me or reply to the thread with any questions.

Well, I showed a really enthusiastic guy around the car on Saturday and we agreed a sale! He left me a deposit and is collecting the car later this week. I'm pleased that he's going to carry on improving it over time and will be working on it with his Dad.

I know what you mean, but when you've got a nice one and a not quite as nice one (and nowhere to put it) it's a little easier. I think the new owner will be able to build on the work I've put into it and make it a really nice P6.

I am keen and willing to do justice to HOTtiE
Only one door left to fit, waiting until the new front wing is fitted. Have a full carpet set to fit next, and some really good condition rear seats. Only issue is they're chocolate brown, but such good state I am going to have a mix of colours (they do say it takes Allsorts).
Had a new stainless exhaust system fitted, mated to repaired manifold which sounds lovely.
Priority task is to test / overhaul the Dynamo as battery does not hold charge. Have used my CTEK charger to fully re-condition the battery which seems in good health. The current drain is zero with ignition off, so almost certain that nothing is killing the battery slowly. Will consider alternator conversion of the Dynamo is beyond repair.
