front window seal

Hello again, could I have some advice please, I'm refitting the front window utilising the same seal around the pillars/roof.
Has someone done this, I would like to know if I should fit the seal (with some sealant) to the frame first and can I slot the window into the seal?
Or should I fit the seal to the window and fit the both as one to the frame?
Thanks Karl

Hope, the seal is in good shape, you know, normally use a new...
Ok, have done this last year and I can see only one way, fit the seal to the window (also with sealant between seal and glass) and then the complete unit resting on the lowered supports and the support channel, then sliding it into the window frame.
Between frame and seal also with sealant. Very important = do never use ordinary silicon, only sealant for this special application. It´s not damaging the paint of your frame and sealant which comes out can be easily "rubbed" away.
Rubbed is not the correct translation. You take off some sealant which is too much somewhere, form a ball and with this ball you can "put" away any other sealant which comes between frame and window or between glass and seal.
Do not forget the lower seal which fits to the metal support channel. Normally after 40+ years they are gone.
All seals are available at MGBD, Wins etc

Seal needs to be fitted to the glass with sealant first. The sealant needed to be a non-curing type. Then you fit the glass & seal to the car. No sealant is required between the seal and the car. The service manual procedure is pretty good to follow.

Vern
