Providing the blowtorch will heat the wing and melt the lead then I see no reason why a blowtorch won't work. The oxy-acetylene was never on a fierce heat when I did it. Get yourself some flux and a nice piece of ash to make a float, then find a scrap panel and you're good to have a go at practicing. There must be some tutorials on youtube somewhere.
