Clearly we would like a really good turn out of P6's on the day to give Ian a fitting send off.

We'd especially like to have the cortege completed with a turn out of 3500S NADA's.

Could all those able to come to the funeral please contact either myself by pm or email, or Roland Shaw, URGENTLY, so that we can organise the cars to be part of the cortege and provide meeting points etc for eveybody else. Ian's road is going to be very full bey the time it has a hearse and a couple of funeral cars in it, let alone a few dozen P6's!

Chris

Ian's funeral is to be on Friday, starting from his home near Doncaster. A cavalcade of P6's will be following the cortege and anyone who wants to bring their P6 is welcome to join in. Message me from here or drop me an email and I will pass on the detailed arrangements.

Likewise anyone attending minus P6 I can provide postcodes etc for your satnavs.

For those who would like to attend the Funeral of Ian Wilson, The service is on Friday 18th at Mattersey church. Leaving his home at 1:30 service at 2pm followed by burial, then returning to his home. Anyone who knew Ian is more than welcome to attend, all or part of the day

I work in Dorset, but will be driving back to Bedfordshire and then up from there.. long drive ahead.

It is with great regret I am unable to attend Ian's Funeral tomorrow.
On Friday I am undergoing a surgical procedure that I am unable to alter the timing for.

I will be there with you all in spirit and try to have a quiet moment around the time of the funeral to remember Ian.

I have 'phoned Donna to explain my inability to help give Ian a good send off.

Meeting up details have been passed to Dan Nicholson of Priory Vehicle Engineers
and he is informing others from the Yorkshire Rover circle who will attend.

Ian's funeral is today, with 10 P6's booked in to form the procession with the cortege. Three NADA's will be leading the charge with a number of other cars significant to Ian. All are V8's apart from Tony Ryalls' gorgeous 2200TC. There's rumour of a mass sounding of horns as a salute....

Final instructions for those I know about went out by email at around 9 last night, so if you're going and haven't had them, message me or ring me.

Those going minus P6's, lots of photo's please, but tasteful of course!

Lets see Ian has a really good send off!

Chris

Here's (part of) Ian's cortege on the move earlier today. Rest in peace mate.

I think it was a fitting send off for Ian. The cortège was allowed to proceed through all junctions by members of the public which in this day and age was very nice.
The NADA's looked fantastic and along with the other P6's was a fine tribute to what the Rover Community thought of Ian.
There was indeed a sounding of the horns and I think that was a nice touch, bet he was chuckling away.
RIP Ian

I'm sure the impressive turnout was a great comfort to Ian's family.

As always Ian and his family made sure it was a good send off, was very hard not to become upset in the church. well it was hard all day. He would have been impressed with the rover turn out was very good watching them travel down to the church was a great site. I even had a drive in Ians car thanks joe.
The rover guys did him proud.
Good bye mate.

How wonderful that you fellows organized the procession of P6's. I exchanged many emails with Ian, we sold each other parts, we swapped radios just last winter.... Not even 50 yet, what a terrible disease.
